We had the good fortune of connecting with Harry Cen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harry, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I’m inspired by everyday life, incorporating what I love into my designs. It adds a personal touch, making the design more special. Oddly enough, the shower is where my mind flows, and ideas naturally come to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is like a piece of me. What makes it different is that I weave in stuff I genuinely love. It’s not just about skills; it’s about telling a story through visuals that really mean something to me.

The professional journey wasn’t a cakewalk. Challenges came, but they were like lessons pushing me to adapt and grow. Learning to turn setbacks into stepping stones was crucial.

I’ve learned to stick to who I am and let my craft evolve. It’s a journey of persistence and creativity, not just about the finished product.

My brand isn’t just designs; it’s my story and ongoing exploration. I’m looking forward to creating more chapters in my artistic journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In NYC, starting off the week, we’d kick it at local eateries, trying everything from street food to cozy cafes. Then, we’d hit up the art district to check out galleries and maybe catch a live show.

Mid-week, we’d dedicate a day to exploring a fascinating museum or interactive exhibit. In the evening, we’d unwind at a rooftop bar with a stunning city view.

As the week rolls on, we’d mix it up with local nightlife, live music, and maybe discover a hidden gem. Towards the end, a chill day at the beach would be the perfect way to relax after all the exploring.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Randy Hunt is my mentor in grad school. He’s an amazing designer that I look up to.
