We had the good fortune of connecting with Harut Gevorgyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harut, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
You can give up when there is nothing left to share, or you run out of massages to transmit. But if you have something to say, I think you should keep going. Results and progress are inevitable, if you are dedicated and consistent. Of course, it’s important to understand how well this result matches your request. Often you may not notice progress because the pace will not meet your expectations. It is important to periodically look back, and in this reflection notify yourself of how great the difference is between you then and now. In this process, usually, you can see all the mistakes and misdeeds, and then, as for me, instead of despondency and disappointment, you should simply draw a conclusion and not repeat the mistakes in the future. Those reflections also has the function of being guides for future use. The energy you give can’t just disappear, it always returns to you sooner or later.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Art is something different because the thought that just arises and then desire to voice it can find a response in other people, become a connecting factor between you. This idea really inspired me at the time and encouraged me to take it as a career path. I see my profession as an opportunity to reveal my inner world and show it to people, thereby creating a reason for conversation without words. At the same time, I understood that I could choose this field of activity, but in art, as elsewhere, it is important to be consistent, hardworking and inquisitive.

Presenting music is a very big responsibility for me, since it’s primarily a language of communication, not everyone can use it correctly. And here you can take the path of pleasing the listener, thereby muffling your voice. It was challenging for me to remain true to my principles, continuing to create and present what resonates primarily with myself, at the risk of receiving indifference in response. But however, People appreciate and love me for my honest approach and sincerity. I never tried to please and satisfy the taste of the public. I chose to sincerely present music conveying my vision.

I truly believe that my work gives freedom and space to experience emotions without restraint, unlike the everyday life. We’re talking about music that cannot be seen with the eyes; it, together with the environment, exists only in a specific, unique moment. Through this music I’m trying to help people find this freedom, experience new emotions, discover new prospects of possibilities and thoughts, seeing the light that I am trying to convey while playing. In addition to a few hours of good time, I want to give people the opportunity to go home and discover that light for themselves. I’m confident in my ability to reveal to people the beauty and interest that I myself feel in life, because after each of my sets I notice these changes first of all in myself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
