We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Fay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success would have to be diligence. Knowing when to go hard and knowing when to retreat and find inspiration from within has helped me maintain longevity throughout the years. It’s easy to get caught up in the rat race aspect of it all but you don’t necessarily have too if you consistently produce quality work that speaks for itself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create music! From composition and arrangement to the songwriting and vocal performance, I can create a song from start to finish single handedly and love getting lost in the process time and time again with each song. What sets me apart from others would be that I’m a female producer. Women in music make up 2% of the industry from engineering to production so I’m incredibly proud that I ventured into that realm and continue to perfect it with each creative project.

I’ve written music my entire life and started taking it seriously with music friends of mine in my hometown. From there I evolved and eventually went to the Los Angeles Film School for music production and entertainment business to perfect my craft at a more professional level. It was far from easy however, the passion and love that I have for what I do fuels and motivates me through even the toughest of times. You have to remember why you started. Journal it out if you have to, in order to stay connected to your roots and know when to walk away to reset.

I want the world to know that I’m an example of the potential that we all have within us. Everybody has something unique and special about them that sets them apart from everyone around them and when you embrace that you unlock a higher version of yourself that will make your brand stand out and make your impact felt by everyone you cross paths with. Like myself with music and writing, everyone has something that lights up their soul and illuminates their fullest potential to the world. Find that light and don’t let it go.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love the Grove in West Hollywood because they have a Barnes & Noble with a balcony patio that I love to go to and read at. I enjoy grabbing a few books and soaking up the sun with the beautiful mountain and palm tree scenery in the background. It doesn’t get much better than that. Anyone who visits me in LA has been there with me.

Another location I really enjoy is the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Like the Grove I could be there forever enjoying the scenery and eventually go to the beach. I also take everyone there to eat at either Plan Check or Stout Burgers. It’s a nice location that has shopping and dinning right by the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to give a huge shout out to all the peers I have crossed paths with who have always believed in me and supported me full heartedly from the very beginning. It’s the little things in life that I hold near and dear to my heart and the people who come up to you with words of encouragement and support have always held a special place in my heart. They have a sparkle in their eyes that is contagious and I have always used that as a source of inspiration to keep going and striving for more.
