Meet Heather Hein | Hair stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Hein and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
When it comes to happiness, self satisfaction is the most important. As a hairstylist with over 20 years of experience, I help women achieve self satisfaction. My clients come to me with a vision and I help make it reality. I love seeing my clients transform in my salon chair and walk out the door with a new level of confidence. Everyone should have the opportunity to look as confident as they feel. It is not just about vanity, people should feel comfortable in their own skin (and hair)!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was born and raise in South Korea and came to the USA with big hopes. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunities that have crossed my path. My biggest challenge was coming to a new country and leaving my family behind. Because of the strong work ethic that was instilled in me growing up, I was able to work hard and become successful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would absolutely take her to beach first! Southern California is well known for the beaches. Each beach has their unique vibe and they are all so beautiful. If it is breakfast time, I would take her to The Beachcomber in Crystal Cove for some French Toast. For dinner, we would go to Nick’s in Laguna Beach where they have the best Cioppino.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My best friend, Amy, deserves recognition. I truly appreciate our friendship. Friends are big part of your support system and should uplift each other. I value those qualities in Amy. Nowadays, it is rare to find genuine people, when you do, you must hold onto them. My husband, Mike, and my two sons, Alex and Lincoln, are obviously a big part of my life and support system. They are the source of my love and happiness. Their encouragement allows me to be able to do great work. I also want to extend my appreciation to all my clients for their continual support and trusting me with their hair.
