We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Roma Wicks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My life is ever evolving because I have growing children. They are ages one, three, nine and eleven so I’ve had to be very flexible in how I decide to run my businesses.

In the past with my son, I was a single mom. My son was my sidekick and he just did everything with me. He was a chill little guy and that made everything easy. Flash forward 8 years, now we also have my stepson and the two little ones. Every year has been different.

Last year we had a live in au pair to help with the kids. I was my sons homeschool teacher too so juggling having everyone home and being a teacher to him alongside having my businesses was really difficult.

Now, I’ve set up a preschool aged pod for the little ones at our ranch from 9-2 Monday through Friday. We have two teachers and about 8 kids. And my son is now doing most of his academics online so this gives me a good chunk of uninterrupted time to work on myself and my businesses. It has been amazing for my productivity!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, I think what sets us all apart is that we are our own person. And that idea is so important because if we don’t follow what our heart truly wants then we fall into the trap of not being our own person. We fall into the trap of being a follower. So what sets me apart is following my hearts desires. Each one of my businesses are so unique to me and no one else. It was not easy to get here at all. But when we follow the pings in our life that cause us to be in alignment, that’s when we can authentically be who we are and do what we are meant to do.

Here’s what I want the world to know about all my my businesses and how they are truly transformative experiences:

With Lupasamama I facilitate mushroom journeys and I offer mushroom microdosing support. The medicine alone can offer a transformative experience however with the addition of my integration mentorships and microdosing support; this is was really creates the transformations.

At Sacred Woman Collective, I opened my own branch in the hi desert near Joshua Tree after partnering with the founder for the last couple of years on her women’s retreats that we host here at my ranch. Every time we host a retreat, people leave different people. It is incredible and it makes me so happy that the retreat world is doing so well because we as humans really need this human connection and to learn about the modalities we offer in order to transform.

For Beer Burros & Brands, it may not seem quite transformative but it actually is. Many people have never even seen a donkey in their lives and just for that fact it transforms people’s lives. Additionally, our burros are rescues. Many people don’t know the dark side of the equine world and what happens to them when they are auctioned off so I love educating people about this. I can’t tell you how many people say they want to rescue a burro after they see us! I hope they really do because these beings need our help to get so many of them out of the slaughter houses.

Lastly, at The Kria, we create EMF blocking products. We are the only luxury brand offering sustainable EMF blocking products. In addition to the products there is a huge component on education around this subject. My partner is a Building Biologist scientist and this is her life’s work. When I have our brand at pop ups I bring my EMF reader and am able to visually and audibly show people the levels of the EMFs and how our products work. This is something that you can’t unsee so in that way, it is totally transforming people’s lives! Also the effects of using our suggestions on how to lower the EMFs around you transform people’s sleep, cognitive and physical health!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I spend alot of my time now in the hi desert near Joshua Tree on our ranch. But also love to spend time in Topanga Canyon. I actually did a guide to the area and I’d love to share that!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think the biggest organization I owe so much to is Sacred Woman Collective. By attending the retreats and circles and now having my own branch of the organizations, I have really been able to do the work to get where I am in my headspace. Also to my dad for bringing me up at retreats my whole life and my husband who supports everything I do!
