Meet Helena Lin | Architect & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Helena Lin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Helena, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was a combination of family influence and passion. I grew up with parents who were entrepreneurs, so from an early age I saw what it meant to take initiative, work hard, and build wealth with something of your own. In many ways, it felt natural that I would eventually do the same.
In architecture, I was driven by the desire to lead with vision—to create environments that are not only functional but also inspiring and community-focused. Starting my own business gave me the freedom to pursue projects that align with my aspirations. Ultimately, it was about combining my entrepreneurial spirit with my passion for architecture to create meaningful impact.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My businesses are more than just work—it’s a reflection of my life story, which I share in my book Restored Grace: Finding Joy Through a Life of Trials. What sets me apart is that my professional journey has been profoundly shaped by personal trials and the lessons they taught me. Through them, I discovered resilience, creativity, and the ability to find opportunity even in the midst of adversity.
The road hasn’t been easy. Just as in my personal life, I faced seasons of setbacks—mistakes in business that nearly led me to bankruptcy and life choices that tested my strength. Yet every challenge became an invitation to grow, to lean deeper into my faith, and to stay committed to a higher purpose: advancing God’s Kingdom through the work I do.
The greatest lessons I’ve learned are perseverance, humility, and trust—trust in God and trust in the journey itself. My story is living proof that redemption and purpose can emerge from even the hardest seasons, and it is that same spirit of grace and determination that fuels my businesses today.”
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love showing friends around Los Angeles, the city I call home. My go-to spots are the incredible museums—the Getty Villa, the Getty Center, The Broad, MOCA, LACMA, and the Norton Simon Museum. I also enjoy taking them to Santa Monica for a walk along the shore and a meal at a beachfront restaurant with a beautiful ocean view. If it’s the right season, I’ll plan an evening at the Hollywood Bowl, the Disney Concert Hall, or the Music Center. And since I’m a foodie, food and wine are always part of the experience. I have a long list of favorite places, but many times I simply enjoy cooking and entertaining at home.”
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people who have shaped my journey, and I am deeply grateful for each of them. I’ll start with my parents, who taught me the value of hard work—not through words, but through their example. They sacrificed and worked tirelessly to give me and my brothers a better life, education, and opportunities. My brother Davy has also been a constant source of strength, always standing by me through mistakes and challenges, offering both support and a safe haven. Today, my husband is my best friend, confidant, and biggest cheerleader—always encouraging me in every endeavor I choose to pursue. Above all, I give thanks to Jesus, who redeemed me from a life that was heading from bad to worse and gave me hope, purpose, and a new beginning.
