Meet Hilein Shenouda | Trauma Informed Somatic Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hilein Shenouda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hilein, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My mission is to empower and support others who have to endure cultural and religious oppression. I am here to guide and equip you with the tools to expand your vision of what is possible, shaping your life in the image of your own design. As a result freeing you from old perceptions and belief systems and empowering you to experiencing the life you want to live
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My approach to coaching bridges scientific and spiritual healing manifestation techniques, to bring you back to a state of wholeness and power that is not hindered by your past trauma and conditioning. Through our work together you will find clarity on what you want to create for yourself and your life. We will focus on where you are in relationship to where you want to go, while equipping you with the tools you need to become aware of your triggers and handle them with more grace. Using a trauma informed approach we will explore the different parts of yourself that are buried under pain and trauma to allow you to heal from unconscious patterns such as codependency, abandonment, and self sabotage. You will experience the joy which comes from allowing yourself to be seen for who you are while owning your voice and power thus walking through life with acceptance and grace.
Using Compassionate Inquiry is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté that reveals what lies beneath the appearance we present to the world. It’s a holistically based trauma informed therapy that weaves together a rich tapestry of neuroscience, mindfulness, somatic and attachment based psychotherapy. Compassionate Inquiry, allows the clients to gain a deeper awareness into the workings of early attachment relationships while feeling safely held within an attuned therapeutic relationship.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love living in silver lake and would start by taking them for a walk around the reservoir, then head out to Saffys for an early dinner at the bar. Depending on the morning, Courage bagels is close and very delicious if you can stand the long lines. I would also take them to Descanso gardens for a day picnic in nature.
These are all in proximity to our area and definitely places we visit frequently.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shout-out to My teacher Gabor Mate and the companionate Inquiry community. Through this work of becoming a certified companionate inquiry practitioner I have learned many tools that have supported my own healing and equipped me with effective teachings and tools to be able to support others through my work.
