We had the good fortune of connecting with Ian Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ian, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Before I even knew what career I wanted to pursue, I always knew I was after financial freedom. I come from a humble beginning growing up in Puerto Rico, so creating financial freedom not only for myself, but also for my family is really my overarching end goal. When I was younger and first learning about the strategies and discipline required to build generational wealth, I realized I was so passionate about that goal that I wanted to help others achieve it too. So, I became a financial advisor, and I’m fortunate enough to find what I do extremely fulfilling. I continuously strive to become more and more of an expert in my field and keep helping others achieve financial freedom as well.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a financial advisory business that specializes in helping top content creators, entertainers and athletes turn quick riches into lasting wealth that they can live off long after their prime earning years are over. My team and I focus on helping clients achieve what we call “work-optional lifestyles.”

It hasn’t been easy getting to where we are today, but I feel fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time when I entered the industry. Particularly in regard to content creators, I recognized the boom in this new class of young millionaires who were being disregarded by the rest of the financial services industry to some degree, and I knew it could be an incredible opportunity. Our team is passionate about working with these clients because it’s extremely fulfilling to help young, ambitious people, many of whom have been underestimated by others, turn a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity into a long-lasting empire.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA has so many awesome spots to go and just sightsee or walk around. Whenever my family or friends come from out of town, I make sure to take them to Santa Monica Pier, Mulholland Drive, and Griffith Park to give them the full LA experience. And, for locals or visitors who have already hit the main spots, I’d recommend going to the Studio City Overlook or taking a drive up to Piuma Road in Malibu. Natalie and I love to take a bottle of wine up there, talk, and just take in the views. At the end of the day, good company is what matters most.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m grateful for the strong support system of family and friends around me that have helped keep me grounded (and sane). In particular, my fiancé Natalie has been by my side since the beginning of this journey, and I always say I couldn’t do any of this without her.
