We had the good fortune of connecting with IMESLI Sarah & Ismael and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi IMESLI, how does your business help the community?
As a community-engaged couple, our commitment to raising awareness about Amazigh Culture is reflected in our projects, where we prioritize social impact. Imesli, initially conceived to preserve Morocco’s sound heritage, has transformed into the first Moroccan sound library. This resource, encompassing ambiences, soundscapes, and traditional instruments and chants, is made accessible to producers, musicians, and movie directors, fostering creativity in their work.
Our project directly supports local artists by recording and promoting their work. We collaborate with Rwayss and traditional instrumentalists, establishing a system to protect local artists’ creations and ensure financial sustainability for their contributions to the cultural landscape.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
