We had the good fortune of connecting with Inbal Claudio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Inbal, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started Like Minded Collective because as a small business owner myself, I saw a gap in the influencer marketing space. After running my candle company, GOLDWICK, for over 3 years, I wanted to start reaching out to influencers in the hopes of collaborating but found the search function on Instagram and Facebook completely inefficient. I then decided to reach out to influencer marketing platforms, but quickly realized that they were out of my budget, or my business wasn’t large enough to get approved. There was no marketplace for influencers, brands, and small businesses who were just starting out, so I decided to create one. I wanted to provide a space where everyone could connect, where the pricing is affordable, the platform is easy to use, and most importantly, where everyone is welcome.

What should our readers know about your business?
I think the biggest advantage I have is that I am my own target market. Having been a small business owner for so long, I know the hardships of getting your brand off the ground. I am so excited to create a platform that will help other small businesses and influencers take off and not feel like they’re being overlooked.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If it’s summer, have a beach picnic at the Santa Monica Pier on Thursday nights. Head to the Griffith Observatory on Saturday morning and spend a couple of hours hiking the trails there. Check out the boardwalk in Venice, then scope out the amazing shops and restaurants on Abbot Kinney Blvd. Head to Malibu Farms for wine tasting and safari animals. You have to go eat some Israeli food at Ta-eem Grill on Melrose, then head to Hollywood and check out the Walk of Fame.Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel like a broken record when I thank my husband, but his encouragement means everything to me. This tech startup has brought on really high highs and really low lows for me. He has always been there to celebrate the wins and help me breathe through the hardships. We are currently expecting our second daughter, and I know he’s going to step up even more when she arrives.
