We had the good fortune of connecting with Isa Casas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to help people to feel healthier and connected to their true self and to all this world, which I call “intangible”. Intangible is the energy and beings that live in a different dimension than the tangible or material world. I’ve always had a conscious relationship with this world and its guidance; so sharing how to integrate this in your life, sparked the thought process of teaching it. I started doing one on one healing sessions back in 2012, but it wasn’t until early 2022, when I started teaching it online as I did with subjects regarding nutrition and meditation. This made my business expand 10x in less than 2 years.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business resides in facilitating transformation in women, so that they can recognize who they truly are, activate their devine design and offer and share that, which they are designed to be and do, with the world. I do this in different ways: my podcast, online courses and the “Comunidad con Calma” (Community with Calm), which is a monthly membership for a community of heart centered women, to whom I teach once a week different transformation tools.
The transformation that I guide them on, is one that I have gone through myself, so aside from specific tools that I teach, I lead by example. One of my core values is authenticity and it is one of the things that is most valued by my audience.
I make complicated subjects easy to understand and applicable to daily and ordinary life, I make spirituality an easy and daily practice. I guide women to transform the perception of regular and uneventful days into extraordinary and magical moments.
At first, I kept all this in the confinement of my office and one on one clients, ashamed of sharing to the world how I perceived and lived my life. I used to have a parallel career in nutrition and public health, and that was what I spoke about if someone asked about my professional life. It wasn’t until I embraced my innate gifts and shared them unapologetically to the world that my business grew exponentially. I studied marketing and business strategies, hired business coaches, but I felt stuck in my business. Now, I understand that the key for my personal and professional expansion was showing and sharing with the world all of who I am. It’s that personal journey that is the biggest asset in my business. I now see the transformation of my students and how they are thriving and changing their own lifes, and it is the most rewarding feeling in my life. I used to feel unsatisfied and now it’s even hard to trace back to that feeling.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would drive around different spots in LA to get a sense of the diversity and magnificence that big city has to offer. I always take my guests to Hermosa’s Beach Pier and stay there for a while, watching the ocean and finding feathers on the sand, you can grab something for breakfast or lunch close by and take a stroll down Main Street.
20 minutes further south is Rancho Palos Verdes and visiting the Terranea resort is a must. It has the most majestic and breathtaking views, this is definitely another favorite of mine. The Getty Museum holds more sublime views of the city and beautiful gardens.
Playa Vista, which is where I live, is a little gem in the city, with the most calm and family type vibe. The hush and hustle of the city fades away when entering this place and walking through its trails makes you feel the original magic of these lands, which were sacred to the tribes that inhabited them many years ago. If you have kids, there’s tons of parks and playgrounds too. Once there, I suggest driving up to Loyola University, which is another site that allows you to have amazing views of the city from above.
My favorite time of year in LA is definitely Summer and early Autumn, the weather is amazing and going to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theatre is an amazing experience. You can also take a night walk and dinner at downtown Culver City to feel the local vibe, followed by a morning visit and breakfast at one of the many restaurants at Rose Avenue.
To get some true Mexican tacos, stop at any time at Lincoln (where the 99c store and Whole Foods, at Venice are), and have some asada with cheese tacos.
If you are looking for a yoga class or spiritual ceremony, the place to go is The Nest Hollywood, up in Hollywood Hills, it is a magical place and it also has one of the best views in this city.
I also recommend visiting the Self Realization, Lake Shrine Center in the Palisades and get a sense of one of the best calming energies, it’s a secret gem hidden in this big chaotic city. Or renting a sailboat at the Marina and sailing off the shore to feel the magic of the ocean and most probably bump into some friendly dolphins.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe that is the energy in which people share their teaching that enables the expansion and transformation of others. In my personal journey there have been many teachers, some of the most recent ones I have been inspired by are Jessica Zweig, Cathay Heller, Gurujas and more known spiritual teachers like Pema Chödron and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who were also detonators in this past year.
