We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabel Campos-Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isabel, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learned from my entrepreneurship is that people including customers do things for their own reasons, and by watching what they do I can tell what they believe or think.
With this understanding, I have been able to relate better with others in the business as well as with personal relationships.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My husband Mel and I started a company whose name was selected by my son. “Atmospheric Water Generator, LLC” (AwG). d/b/a Quench Innovations. This has been a blessing since it has put us in the first line in google searches. With AwG we sold units made by another company. We lost our supplier during COVID. We designed our own prototype, and we are very proud of our new product.
Previously I worked at a factory as their international sales representative, so I learned the ins and outs of a factory. This has helped me in regard to organizing a factory, planning, purchasing, hiring personnel, and organizing the assembly lines.
Producing our own AwGs is not as easy as selling someone else’s product, but it is more rewarding. Our biggest challenges have been getting good employees and we are still working on that. We have looked for newly trained graduates at Universities and Technical Schools and doing as much as we can ourselves. We learned that this gigantic vision is far bigger than what we can accomplish by ourselves.
What set us apart from the competition is that
• The Water Factory is in a class of its own. We stand out from the competition, because of the exceptional service to our family of customers, we pride ourselves in having a dedicated team behind our product with parts and service.
• The Water Factory is dedicated to creating a custom-made atmospheric water generator to meet our customer’s specific needs.
• We expect your own Eddy AwGs Series to give great tasting, clean, healthy water for 2+ decades.
• We offer off-grid solutions to generate water.
• We have a special filtration system that has been tested to kill most bacteria and viruses.
Mel and I are very proud of our children’s contribution, and we are excited about our growth and foresee that some of them will be joining us.
We want the world to feel confident that we can provide clean, healthy water for them and their families. We plan to save a percentage of our income to provide AwGs to selective charitable organizations to provide clean water to the people they serve.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Let’s say Martha came over to see us from Mexico and arrives at the Orlando airport on Monday.
Tuesday a nice day trip to Coco Beach, Florida just 60 miles from home. We would each at a beachfront restaurant to enjoy the refreshing sea breeze caressing our faces.
Wednesday a trip to The Bok Tower in Lake Wales, Florida to enjoy the history and beautiful plants that make their delightful garden. There is a pleasant restaurant on site.
Thursday, we go on a trip to downtown Lakeland walking around the lakes and the historic downtown area. We would eat lunch at the Garden Bistro for a great natural salad and delicious sandwich.
Friday we would walk the Van Fleet Trail and spend the rest of the day cooking and resting at home.
Saturday she will be invited to join us at our Messianic Synagogue to worship.
Sunday we would leave my husband at home and visit the mall.
Monday is the time to say goodbye and drive her back to the Orlando airport.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my husband, Mel. It was he who first had the vision to “Quench Thirst Globally” something that he has been dreaming about. We have put our combined efforts together to come to where we are today, forming our own factory to design and manufacture the atmospheric water generators that we will be selling with pride.
