We had the good fortune of connecting with Iyare Erin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi iyare, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
When your brand is you, there’s rarely a clear line between work and life especially in a city like Los Angeles. Everything becomes content, every outing feels like an opportunity, and you start to carry this unspoken pressure to always be ‘on.’ There are moments where I’ll be getting ready to go out and feel this guilt creeping in — like, ‘Should I be filming this? Should I be capturing it for my audience?’ Even on my birthday in Palm Springs, I felt torn. Part of me just wanted to relax and be present, but another part whispered, ‘If you want to expand into travel content, this is your chance.’
It’s a constant balancing act between living the moment and documenting it for growth. And sometimes, that guilt — for simply wanting me time — can be the heaviest part of all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a beauty and fashion content creator who started on Instagram, but now I’ve grown across platforms — TikTok, and most recently YouTube, where I just reached over 1,000 followers. I’ve also modeled in music videos and even on the runway. Last year, I walked in Harlem’s Fashion Row and ended up being featured in Vogue, which still feels surreal. What’s wild is, I had only gone to New York that week to create content — I wasn’t even expecting to model. They asked me last-minute, and I found out the day of the fitting that I’d be walking that very night. It was one of those moments where your faith in the dream feels confirmed.
That said — it hasn’t always been glamorous. In 2020 and 2021, I was creating so much that I started to tie my worth to my engagement. If a post didn’t do well, it would affect my whole mood. Eventually, I had to take a break, even though I knew it would slow down my growth. But I needed space to remember why I even started. I came back with a healthier mindset, and while I still have big goals, I’ve stopped letting numbers dictate how proud I feel of my work.
I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency matters, but so does protecting your joy. I’m passionate about what I do, and I really do revolve a lot of my life around it — but I’m also learning it’s okay to log off, to live, and to come back when it feels real again.
What I’m building isn’t just content — it’s a feeling. I want to create a space for people who love makeup, coffee, cozy maximalist vibes, and who also want to talk about things like mental health and identity and the pressure to be “on” all the time. I want my content — especially on YouTube — to reflect that softness and intention. And one day, I want a brand that captures all of it: beauty, depth, and the joy of little luxuries.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m lucky because my best friend actually lives nearby, so we hang out all the time. If I were planning a perfect week for us, it’d be chill but cute. We’d start the day at Series A, our favorite café — we’re obsessed with their dalgona latte and the mushroom pastry they have. Then probably wander around Beverly Hills, maybe grab appetizers at Ocean Prime and get the Black Orchid cocktail (it’s so pretty with the orchid frozen in the ice cube, I love the vibe).
At night, I’d want to take a drive along PCH just to look at the water and unwind — that always resets me. Most of the time we’re doing little things like shopping at Lululemon, patrolling Sephora, or finding new spots to eat and take pictures. It’s pretty routine for us, but honestly, it’s really fun.
I’m not really into nightlife anymore — I’d much rather do something relaxing. A mini trip to Palm Springs or San Diego would be perfect too. And I’m a huge fan of jazz clubs, there’s a really cute one across from Beverly Center that I love, plus a few others in the area. I just like anything that feels lowkey but still a little elevated.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely want to shout out my parents for always believing in me, and my best friend Malika Nura — we’ve been on this journey together since 2020. Technically, it started even earlier, but that’s when we began creating content seriously. I’ll never forget during Covid, I had this wild idea after seeing a girl on Instagram get makeup PR — it was around 2 AM, and I sent out over 200 emails that night. The next day, I told Malika, ‘We need to do this. Let’s send out emails — we can be influencers too.’ That moment really lit a fire under us, and we’ve been building ever since.
