We had the good fortune of connecting with Jace LaFace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jace, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
I think a lot of people would be surprised on how open and judge free the tattooists and tattoo industry really is. People tend to make up their own ideas about people based on their looks and when you do that you really close out the opportunity to see what people are really like.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m really stoked to see what happens with the rest of this year and next year, we have been building a team of really incredible artists and we’re slowly getting to a place where we want to be. It’s hard to find a group of like-minded individuals that you can feel comfortable around and work with, so for that I I am grateful and can’t wait to see what the future brings.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m lucky to live in Charlotte, North Carolina where we are just two hours from the mountains and three hours from the beach. I feel like you could eat at a new restaurant and drink at a new brewery every day for a couple months and not have to repeat. I would definitely check out Plaza Midwood and Noda, two really cool neighborhoods that are changing really fast.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to say that it’s very hard to find true relationships and I’d like to give to thank all my close friends that have been there for me through my whole career, not just the good times but the bed as well. Also I’d like to think 510 tattoo for being a home for me for the past few years of my tattoo journey.
