We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob Reeve and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacob, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
For over 25 years, I have been helping people—especially Christians—heal psychologically from unhealthy beliefs and broken relationships. One of the things the people I work with are often surprised to discover is that their biggest problems in life are not external but internal, in their own belief systems, and that there is one belief system that is the underlying source of pain in all people—the belief that you are alone.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For over 25 years, I have been helping people—especially Christians—heal psychologically from unhealthy beliefs and broken relationships. More recently I have created a process called “The Wholeness Method” and I am beginning to train people to become facilitators in this method. The method helps people to recognize their own belief systems while identifying the ones that hinder their ability to cultivate healthy relationships—with themselves and others. Our sessions incorporate guided visualizations and active listening experiences with God, often leading participants to profound insights about themselves. These breakthroughs frequently serve as catalysts for deep healing and lasting transformation.

My wife and I have had six children and I have been actively present for all their births. The feeling you get when witnessing a life come into the world is utterly overwhelming. The only other place I experience that feeling is when I get to see someone experience new birth psychologically or emotionally. New life is a total miracle.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If they liked the outdoors and were adventurous, I would take them on a surf excursion or backpacking trip to some water holes and hot springs. If we just had a day, I might start by taking them to a secret series of swimming holes with jumping rocks that are fed by cold springs year round close to my house. I go there multiple times per week to swim, meditate and get a work out in. Then I might take them to Ojai’s olive oil company for some olive oil tasting. Perhaps spend some time talking at my house where we have farm animals, gardens, a hot tub, and games. For the evening, I would take them to the Noodle House, or Papa Lennons, then figure out where there is drinks, music and dancing. In Ojai this could be anywhere; Restaurants, Libby bowl, random houses, farms, parks, etc…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife Kimberly, my kids and my mom. I am so thankful for their incredible resilience, strength, and constant willingness to grow in forgiveness, acceptance, respect and love, for me as well as for each other. Without them, I would certainly not have the perspective or the experience I need for what I do now.
