We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Fae and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacqueline, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My whole life I’ve always been Entrepreneurial. Of course, not all my businesses were lucrative or successful. I had a clothing line, production company, and even a Yoga studio. I was actually doing life coaching and hypnotherapy when one of my clients asked me to be his dating coach. Within 3 months of doing dating coaching and helping him fix up his online profiles he was in a relationship. One thing lead to another, dating coaching turned into Matchmaking and I realized there was nothing greater than helping people find love, because we all deserve love. So, I opened I Deserve Love Matchmaking and Breakthrough Coaching.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a High-End Matchmaking Agency and work as a Breakthrough Dating/Relationship Coach. What sets our company apart from many other Matchmaking Agencies is we handle our business with love. It’s never just about the money. My goal is truly helping people find love and learning to understand their patterns & blocks, so they can receive love. I’ve had my own business for three years now, and it hasn’t been the easiest journey. When I started, I worked long hours, organized and hosted my first events and spent months interviewing so many single people I thought I’d lose my mind. While the workload has only grown, I’ve definitely learned some key lessons in business. Hah, it’s simple things really, like doing business without a contract is a lot like having sex without a condom. I’ve learned to follow my intuition and if someone shows me red flags it’s not always best to take their money because they may not be ready for love. I’m known as The Faery Matchmaker, and just like in fairy tales, I want people to realize that magic isn’t dead; true unconditional love still exists. There will always be lessons, of course, and love rarely comes in the wrapping paper you imagined, but if you stay open-minded and positive you can attract that special someone into your life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles has some amazing spots unlike any other place in the world. I’ve lived here for almost 15 years, so I’ve seen a lot of this city, but if I had a friend in town who’d never been here, I’d definitely want to show them some of the hot spots. There’s no place on the planet like Beverly Hills, so, I’d definitely want to do a “fancy” day there: having an amazing breakfast at the Beverly Wilshire, a day of seeing the over the top characters in town, then maybe hitting Wally’s for a happy hour cocktail, followed by a delicious seafood dinner Avra. The great thing about LA though is as decadent and fancy as Beverly Hills can be, a hike in the mountains or a towel on the beach is only a short drive away. I’d definitely also want to spend a day taking full advantage of the outdoor life as well. The PCH from Santa Monica to Malibu are like nothing else on a beautiful day when you’ve managed to avoid rush hour and I have a soft spot for seafood, so we’d definitely enjoy a bite at Malibu Seafood’s outdoor patio or stop by Malibu Wines for a glass of red.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband Ramón. Ramón was the one who believed in me and encouraged me to start my Matchmaking Agency. I was actually pregnant with our first child when I created “I Deserve Love,” he helped me with the baby, all my contracts and bios. I could have never done it without his help and encouragement, so I am forever grateful. Not only is he my husband but he’s also my business partner.
