We had the good fortune of connecting with Jade Elora and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jade, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
When I entered the wedding photography industry, I quickly noticed how often it centered a narrow ideal—thin, white, young, straight couples. I knew I wanted to offer something different: a welcoming, affirming photography experience for all couples, especially those who don’t see themselves represented in mainstream wedding media.

My work is about more than just taking pretty photos. It’s about creating a space where everyone—regardless of race, body type, gender identity, age, or orientation—feels seen, celebrated, and comfortable in front of the camera. For me, that meant learning how to photograph different skin tones, pose all kinds of bodies and pairings with care, and challenge those limiting industry standards of beauty.

I also believe visibility matters. That’s why I showcase a diverse range of love stories on my website and social media—because when people see couples who look like them getting married, it helps remind them that they belong in this space too. As corny as this sounds, I really think all my clients are beautiful and they deserve to have their stories documented.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m really proud of how my photography style has developed. When I started out, the trend was pastel, faded, soft-lit wedding photos, and I thought that’s what I should do too. But it wasn’t me. Eventually, I learned that trying to fit in with everyone else’s style isn’t the way to go. As I found my creative stride, I realized I’m not a pastel person—I like all-caps COLOR! So I leaned into a vibrant look with a heavy emphasis on emotion, natural light, and joy. Then, bingo! I found my niche. I’m an alternative, fun, colorful type of person, and there’s a need for that too. Lesson learned: not everyone wants the status quo.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ooh! Okay, so I’m a big animal lover, so one of my favorite spots around town is the Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar. It’s an animal sanctuary with so many opportunities to learn and interact with animals, and they truly care for the animals. Another great outing is whale watching out of Long Beach with Harbor Breeze Cruises. It’s a really fun time and you get a great view of the coast too. As a photographer, I’m also a sucker for some great beauty spots. El Matador State Beach in Malibu is breathtaking, especially at sunset. For food, I love Trejo’s Tacos and Sugarfish, which may be the most stereotypical LA answer ever, but they’re popular for a reason!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to Jessica Carrillo’s LA Wedding Vendors & Creatives group. They’re an incredible community of wedding vendors who were very welcoming when I was just starting out and didn’t know anyone, and Jessica is a gem!
