We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaiden Urbina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaiden, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born on Long Island but split my upbringing between the East and West coasts, thanks to my parents hailing from New York and California. This back-and-forth exposed me to a mix of music, movies, slang, and art, shaping my eclectic tastes. Being surrounded by all this culture and soaking in every detail sparked my passion for photography and videography. I dove headfirst into the vibrant scenes of Los Angeles capturing it’s essence through my lens.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is all about capturing those raw, unprompted moments that define the atmosphere I’m shooting. Growing up in controlled chaos taught me to block out the noise and stay focused. My pops took me to Coachella in ’07, and ever since, I’ve been calm, observant, and open-minded on the job, feeding off others’ energy to nail the perfect shot. This approach helps me learn and adapt to different settings, evolving with the art forms rather than sticking to trends.

I got here by networking, proving my worth, and staying true to my creative process. My mission is to showcase the beauty of different scenes and their art to the world. When people see my photos or videos, I want them to think, “Damn, that looks like a blast” or “I don’t get it, but I can see why people love it.” I know I struck gold when my grandparents give my work their seal of approval.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My car’s headed straight to In-N-Out after I pick them up. During the week, we’ll hit the Hollywood sign for a hike, catch a Dodger or Laker game, explore Fairfax, Rodeo, and Downtown to soak up the city’s vibrant energy. By night, we’ll hit sunset and make our way to an afters. I might be terrible with names, but I make up for it with my friendly vibe and knack for sparking conversations. With a camera in hand, the night’s adventures are limitless.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Huge thanks to my parents and family—without their unwavering support and trust, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Massive shoutout to Garrett “Grafik” Arreguin, Remrick “Darko” Clemente and Ryan Leutz for their mentorship and taking a chance on me, giving me the platform to showcase my art and personality from the jump.
