Meet Jaime Gehly | Drummer’s Diary #1 Live Streaming Drummer on TikTok

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaime Gehly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaime, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Honestly, I pursued a creative career because playing drums is my favorite thing in the world—it’s what brings me the most joy. Being able to turn that into a career has been the most fulfilling and exciting thing I could have imagined. It definitely wasn’t the easiest path. There were times when it felt like no one believed in me but me, and I had a lot of chances to fail. But I didn’t really have a choice—nothing else was ever going to satisfy me. I’ve always demanded a life that feels exhilarating and meaningful, and I refuse to settle for anything less. Once you make that decision and commit to it fully, success becomes less about ‘if’ and more about ‘how’ and ‘when.’’

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At the core of my art is drumming—it’s always been my voice, my therapy, and my way of connecting with people. But it’s more than just playing drums; it’s about creating an energy that draws people in and makes them feel something real in the moment. What sets me apart is that I don’t just perform—I share. I bring people into the process, the emotion, the rawness of it all, especially through live streaming where everything is happening in real time. It’s not polished or rehearsed—it’s alive.

I’m most proud of building a career around something I truly love. Playing drums live on TikTok and creating a community around it wasn’t part of anyone’s blueprint for success, but I carved out a space that didn’t exist before. And out of that space, I launched Streaming Artist Agency to help others do the same—build careers on their own terms through live art, creativity, and connection.

Getting here definitely wasn’t easy. There were countless moments when I could’ve quit—financial uncertainty, lack of support, self-doubt—but I kept going because nothing else lit me up the same way. I learned that resilience isn’t about never falling—it’s about deciding over and over again that your dream is worth getting back up for.

What I want the world to know is that your art matters—even if it doesn’t fit a mold. Your story matters—even if it hasn’t followed a straight line. I’m living proof that you can build something real from passion, grit, and a refusal to settle for a life that doesn’t inspire you. That’s what I hope my journey and my brand represent: freedom, authenticity, and the courage to create a life worth living.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d start by bringing them to my home and recording studio in Malibu to experience live streaming from a pro setup—that’s always a cool moment to share. We’d grab breakfast at Kristy’s Café, hit Zuma Beach, and swing by Heathercliff for coffee. One day we’d visit my buddy Bryan Blackmon down at Huntington Beach for some wild live stream antics at the pier. Maybe take a quick trip out to Desert Hot Springs or Aqua Caliente near Palm Springs to unwind. Back in Malibu, we’d chill at a private beach, grab dinner at Neptune’s Net, and if we’re feeling bold, go skydiving in Camarillo or hang glide at Black’s Beach. We’d probably end with a full-blown theme park day—Six Flags or Universal. Just a week of good energy, big laughs, and memories that stick.
