We had the good fortune of connecting with Jake O’Donnell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jake, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When reflecting on my time as a former college athlete, I thought about the resources that would have elevated my game to new heights on and off the field. Wanting to make an impact on the sports and entertainment industry, I decided to put together a pool of resources not only to support myself and the business but to also support our athletes. Growing up playing sports, I saw athletes being exploited by businesses at an early age. Seeing greedy businessmen taking advantage, I decided to launch a business that would support and protect athletes in all phases of the game.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
EAMG Sports is a superior service sports agency that focuses on the development of the person rather than just the athlete. We aid our athletes in personal development, personal branding, social media marketing, corporate sponsorships and endorsements, and everything in between. Building a business is far from easy, especially in a hyper-competitive industry. To reach the success that we have achieved to this date, we have focused on becoming 1% better each day and building our foundation brick by brick.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whenever our athletes visit us in Tampa, we spend time further developing our relationship and developing them on and off the field. All of our athletes have the opportunity to train at the House of Athlete while they are in town. Outside of performance training, we will spend time showing them the city. Part of our client entertainment includes local sports games, going to the beach, and showing them the best eats of Tampa Bay.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of my greatest inspirations is my mom. Growing up, my mom owned a small business that she ran with our family for over 25 years. Having the opportunity to grow up helping her business, I learned a strong work ethic and perseverance. My mom taught me that no matter the odds, walk into every situation with courage and persistence. Success can be determined by time x consistency.
