We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamarius and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamarius, what role has risk played in your life or career?
It’s not a reward without the risk. You can’t stay stuck in your comfort zone if you want to improve in life. I made the decision to move to LA from Florida right after I graduated college, with very little savings all to pursue music. Every struggle that I’ve dealt with was worth it because I feel like I found my purpose.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a DIY type of recording artist. I produce,record,mix all of music and music for other artists. I’ve learned in this journey that, you have to take initiative and go for the things you want in life. So many people closed doors on me which motivated me to learn everything I needed to succeed and now I got my own building. I’m opening doors for others. It was always meant to be that way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Santa Monica is the vibe for me right now. The sun just hits different. The energy is flowing. The studio I work out of is also there. The nightlife is cool too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my inner circle and all the people that helped me get through self doubt and many days of just wanting to quit. Having a strong support system is essential to success.
