Meet Jamie | Model/Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was at a crossroads in life where I realized that no matter how hard I worked at my nine to five job, I was being compensated the same amount as if I didn’t put any effort into my work. I wanted to do something I was passionate about and enjoyed doing, but at the same time, to be able to get more in return if I put more effort into my work. I knew if I stayed at my nine to five job I would not be able to accomplish my big dreams/goals in the time frame I had in mind.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Growing up, I remember looking at the car community from the outside and seeing the beautiful women modeling. Never would I think that one day I would see myself being in their heels. I started showing my modeling work VIA social media and that is where a lot of the companies that I have worked for/with have found me. My most proud accomplishment would have to be going to Playboy Corporate office and doing a photo shoot there. It was not only exciting to see where the company has gone, but where they were heading. This industry is not easy by any means. Many people look at this industry from the outside and think all it is is smiling in front of a camera. They don’t understand all the planning, networking, time, and effort put into just one collaboration alone. It can be very stressful as I want to make sure whatever brand I am working for/with, is beyond satisfied with the type of content I supply them with. I think that is what I want the world to know about my brand: “If you work with me, I will give you my all and make sure I bring your vision to life.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I live in Orange County, California I would have to take them to all the foodie spots that I love! I would have to stop by Pelican Hill Resort to get the caviar fries, Mokkoji for Japanese shabu shabu, and Nothing Bundt Cakes for dessert (have to get the red velvet)! For entertainment we would definitely have to hit up round 1 to try and win some new stuffed animals for the house. If looking for just a relaxing time, we could head right around the corner from my house and go to Laguna Beach to soak up the sun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I would like to shout out my significant other Richard. He has been with me since the beginning of this journey and has constantly pushed me to strive to do bigger and better things. In addition to him, the entire social media team that I have behind me (Captivate Creator Management) as they are always bringing new and fresh ideas to the table. All of the companies that I have worked with whether it was a large company like Playboy or a smaller company like Spocom. Without the companies taking a chance on me, I would have not thought it was a good idea to take a chance on myself. Lastly, all of the photographers and events that I have shot with or worked with that have made this journey not only a great learning experience, but an exciting one as well.
