Meet Jana Bunge | Makeup artist / hair stylist
We had the good fortune of connecting with Jana Bunge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jana, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
This is a power-packed question! Yes, I am a parent – and a grandmother of 7, so I’ve had years of parenting experience ha-ha! Filled with wise choices and not so wise choices – I’ve learned over the last 40 years that children thrive in an environment characterized by love, acceptance, and security. We as parents can create a nurturing home where our kids feel valued, heard and supported. This involves demonstrating love, extending grace, and practicing forgiveness. When children experience unconditional love and acceptance at home, they are more likely to grow in confidence, develop healthy relationships and flourish in their own life and faith journey.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Recognizing that weddings are collaborative efforts, our team works closely with other vendors, such as photographers and wedding planners, to create a cohesive bridal experience. We foster relationships with fellow vendors to ensure that every aspect of the wedding day is seamless and stress-free for our bride!
We love to pamper our gals – and creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere eases any wedding day jitters. Through our pre-production work and careful planning, everything runs smoothly, allowing our brides to feel pampered and confident.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Ventura County!! There are so many fun places to shop, eat and listen to music.
One of my favorite places is an amazing local wine tasting venue called Nectar of the Dogs in Simi Valley – definitely a hidden gem!
For restaurants – some of my favs are the local “hang outs” – that’s where the good food and vibe is! A fabulous find is the Boatyard Pub in Ventura on the pier. Best food in town and live music every weekend.
And Dargan’s Irish Pub in Ventura is a local hangout with the best sandwiches in town. It’s on the main drag (Main Street) – so if you like to spend the day shopping, antiquing, enjoying sights/sounds and yummy food – that’s the place to go!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m beyond grateful to my family, friends and my Savior Jesus Christ for giving me the opportunity to do what I love – pamper our brides, families, and our clients! Each day is a blessing, never to be taken for granted.
