We had the good fortune of connecting with Janie Schwartz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Janie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We are three friends who had our lives turned upside down by divorce and separation. After realizing that there was no existing support system for navigating single parenthood, we set out to create SAINT to redefine divorce and single motherhood.
SAINT is a member-based community and platform for the modern, single mother providing the necessary support, network and education wherever you are on your journey both online and in-person.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re shifting the narrative and shaking the stigma. Most importantly we’re doing it with the power of group support. Because every circumstance is different, we set out to create a space to heal, grow and ultimately thrive. This is a special group with a shared experience that can make all the difference as you navigate this next chapter.
From the consideration phase to post divorce co-parenting, SAINT understands that every circumstance is unique and nuanced. Women are choosing to explore motherhood without a partner. Women are happily remarried and continue to navigate co-parenting. There is no one size fits all.
Building a business is never easy. We wanted to make sure there was something viable. Proof of concept was incredibly important to us. We continue to confront challenges all the time but find curiosity and communication are key. At the end of the day we know that building this community is valuable, relevant and necessary.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
