Meet Jaquais .P | Movement Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaquais .P and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jaquais, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, my thought process behind starting my own business came from realizing I’ve always been more than just a performer—I’m a visionary. I’ve spent years dancing, choreographing, teaching, and creatively directing my own work, and I just knew it was time to build something that truly reflects my passion and purpose. I wanted to create a space where movement, music, fashion, and authenticity collide. I’m inspired by powerful artists like Beyoncé and Gaga—people who built empires around their art—and I see that for myself too. Starting my own business means owning my narrative, uplifting others through creativity, and showing the world that artistry can be bold, fierce, and limitless.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is about being unapologetically iconic. It’s bold, passionate, and rooted in truth. I’m not just a dancer—I’m a storyteller, a visionary, and a force. Through choreography, performance, fashion, and creative direction, I create experiences that move people. I blend styles like hip-hop, house, and jazz funk with high-fashion visuals and theatrical elements to make something that feels original, emotional, and unforgettable. I don’t follow trends—I create moments.
What sets me apart is that I lead with authenticity. Everything I create is a reflection of who I am: fierce, driven, and limitless. I’ve performed professionally at Carowinds, trained at AMDA, choreographed original visuals, and brought my creative visions to life from the ground up. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come—not just professionally, but personally. I’ve learned to own my voice, my style, and my story.
The journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced rejection, doubt, and times where I had to push through with nothing but faith and fire. But I kept showing up. I leaned on my passion, my people, and my purpose. I learned that being iconic isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being undeniable. It’s about showing up fully as yourself and demanding space through your presence.
What I want the world to know is that my brand is more than just dance—it’s a movement. It’s for the ones who dream loud, move boldly, and express freely. My story is still unfolding, but one thing is certain: I’m here to inspire, empower, and leave an iconic legacy behind.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first off honey, they definitely need to hop off that LAX flight and go straight to Raising Cane’s—because babyyy that Caniac Combo got me in a chokehold, no shade! Then of course, we hittin’ the beaches—Malibu if we’re giving luxury, but if we’re in our tourist era, we can slide to Santa Monica (even though it’s not really my vibe like that, but we love the water chy). LA is all about the views though—the rooftops, the vibes, the sunlight hittin’ just right. And you know we’re strutting through Rodeo Drive being cunty, serving looks, serving energy, like it’s a runway. One thing about it, if you’re rolling with me—it’s gon’ be a kiki, Abracadabra: Gaga Mayhem Tour style, honeyy!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to recognize my mother for always being there for me and embracing every part of my bold, vibrant personality. To my family and friends—thank you for your unwavering love and support. To God, who continues to keep me grounded and uplifted through every step. And to the artists who inspire me daily, thank you for fueling my passion and pushing me to be the best version of myself. I’m beyond grateful, and I look forward to even more success to come.”
