We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarrel Cudjoe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jarrel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own business because growing up I always did things on my own time. I believed that you should get paid for the hard work and effort that you put in, not for the hours. This thought process led me to creating my own business and building a team around me that can help my business grow and flourish through the years. As I got older I quickly realized that time is a very valuable and precious asset that we can never get back once its gone, therefore this further confirmed the idea that having my own business will be very beneficial to me in the long run. Now with all that being said, I am very aware that starting and growing your own business is very time consuming and can take some capital, but the fact that it’s something that is owned and operated by me makes the end goal so much sweeter. At this point in my life right now I have children and being able to be flexible with my schedule so that I cant attend all of their games and events reassures me everyday that I made the right decision in starting my own business

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets my company apart from others that do the same thing is that we push the boundaries on being creative. We live in a world where everything is duplicated and that’s something that you can not get around, You have to step outside of the box and take chances in order to stand out. Our videos and photos set us apart because we step outside of the box everytime, creativity rules the world and our creative insight combined with our high level of marketing makes each and every one of our projects better than the last.

I can say that along this journey of growing my business i’ve learned that being scared or nervous to take a risk will get you nowhere fast, I’ve also learned that failing has to happen in order for you to grow, you jus have to know how to bounce back from it and not have it keep you down. As we continue to grow I’d love to world to know that we are the number one creative team in real estate marketing and branding and we continue to grow and expand everyday in every aspect so that we can deliver better content for you and your listings. Invest in yourself, you are the brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting I’d take them to Sage for brunch which is located in Pasadena Ca. The area outdoor is beautiful with plenty of shops that we can walk to after we finish eating. The whole week would be planned with trips to museums like the Getty and days at the beach over at sunset beach in Huntington. In general Socal has a ton of events, activities and places to eat. One of the few states in the country where you can snowboard in the morning and hit the beach in the evening.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve had a ton of inspirations on my way climbing up the ladder, inspiration can be found just around every corner if you’re looking for it, here are a few of mine.

My wife Kierstan Cudjoe, a lot of her inspiration was and is non verbal. She would buy me things that would help my business, whether it be a bigger camera bag to fit my equipment, new clothes so that I look professional and presentable when heading to meetings or books on business to help me expand my learning and find other ways to tackle current issues that may be slowing me down at time. She has definitely been a big push in my journey to owning and operating my own business.

I’ve always been a big fan of autobiographies, I enjoy hearing about a persons struggle in the beginning and learning how they overcame in order to become the successful person that we all know and admire now. A few of those books are as follow:

Born a crime by Trever Noah
Will by Will smith
Hustle harder hustle smarter by Curtis 50 cent Jackson
The book of Jose by Fat Joe
The autobiography of Gucci Mane by Gucci Mane
I can’t make this up by Kevin Heart
Tough by Terry Crews
Feeding the soul by Tabitha Brown

These are my top autobiographies that helped to push me and kept me going in the right direction. They also gave me a reason to keep grinding when I wanted to stop. Another book that is not an autobiography but is one that I have went over at least 12x is Think and grow rich by Napolean Hill. This book will help to transform your mind and thoughts in order to accumulate the things you need in your life to be successful.

Lastly, I’d like to recognize my kids, who without even knowing it has been one of the greatest inspirations in my life. Creating an exceptional life for them has been my main goal and it keeps me going everyday without failure.
