We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Kozma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, what do you attribute your success to?
I love what I do and take pride in transforming my clients’ lives. Fitness training is not just about workouts, it’s about understanding my clients’ goals, setting realistic expectations, monitoring progress, encouraging during setbacks and celebrating achievments. I pride myself in my commitment to my client’s success. I always go above and beyond to make sure that my clients have the tools and external motivation needed to achieve their fitness goals. I care as much as they care, or probably even more than they do. In addition, my knowledge in this field is far more extensive than the average trainer, which is how I create consistent results in a large number of clients over the years. You can see the evidence in my client before and after photos, and testimonials sections of my website. I’m also told I’m tough and funny; sense of humor is important when training gets tough.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve been a professional trainer since 1995, one of the very first with my own website and the first trainer to feature ‘before and after’ photos of my clients. It certainly was not easy to get to where I am, but sharing my love of weight training and body shaping is what still keeps me going, all these years later. Body building changed my own life and taught me that it’s in my control to lose weight and shape my body. When I saw the transformations within myself; from an overweight kid to a body building competitor, I decided to devote myself to helping others achieve their personal optimum fitness. I wanted to inspire people and help push them to overcome their challenges and become strong and beautiful. Today, I’m grateful to my amazing team of like-minded trainers working all over LA and changing people’s lives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ll always be a fan of Venice Beach, not only because it’s a body building mecca but because it’s fun place to take visitors. LA is all about movies, so Universal Studios is another favorite place. When it comes to food, I love Mastro’s in Malibu! You get the best steak there (I like to joke that meat is power) and you are right on the beach looking out at the ocean. It’s the best!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My fiance, Laurie Binder Doctor of Acupuncture is always by my side helping me to hone my message and skills. Her website is www.acupunctureLA.org
