Meet Jeff Zenisek | Comedian, Podcast Host & Producer, Tennis Coach.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeff Zenisek and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeff, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I think these days the quote “Perfect is the enemy of good,” resonates with me, for most of my life I would strive for perfection as if it were an attainable goal. I always would tell myself “I’ll wait til I’m better, Im not ready yet,” but if you wait til you think you are ready, you may never actually reach that point. It is important to go out there with the skills you have. It gets harder as you improve because you have a standard to uphold. But you have to have the same fearlessness of failure as you did when you began whatever it is you are doing.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My comedy has shifted drastically over my career, I have been doing comedy long enough that you have to make changes and grow past your older comedy. It’s a slow process but you have to enjoy the process.
The biggest lesson Ive learned is that you need to stay consistent to stay relevant. People consume so much content now that you must constantly put new things out in order to keep visible. Consistency also builds momentum.
I have been teaching myself how to do all aspects of my content creation. It was important to learn how to use cameras and podcast equipment. I believe now you will see more independent artists creating content with small teams. The time of large scale bloated productions is on the way out.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely spend all of our time at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Ripleys Believe it or Not. I would also make sure we go to the Grove to go to The Cheesecake Factory. There is also a taco truck that rules.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Alex Ansoleaga, The Virzi Triplets, Dillon Vaughn, Alex Campos, Malcolm Kelner.
