Meet Jen Haddix | Yoga Teacher and Self Love Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jen Haddix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jen, how does your business help the community?
One of my biggest messages on my platform is “heal yourself, heal the world.” So many of us look at the state of the world and feel helpless, and wonder “what can I do to help?”. And the answer is simple: work on yourself. Show up for yourself every single day and learn and grow, and that will light up the rest of the world and help it heal, too. My business focuses on yoga, meditation and self love/self discovery, so this is a big part of what I help my clients do every single day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been more or less self employed for the past 6 years. And going from being an employee to owning your own business is definitely a challenge, and one that none of us are really prepared for! It is a constant journey of learning curves, “failures”, and opportunities to really get to know yourself.
I recently saw a meme that said “I’m pretty sure starting a business is just a subconscious choice to do deeper soul work” and I find this to be incredibly true. My first business was a personal training business, which really got me to look at how I see myself and others. My second business was a pet sitting business, that I started at the height of my depression and poor mental health diagnosis, and I truly believe those dogs saved me. And the business I have now is an opportunity to grow, course correct and meet myself where I am every single day.
I got here by persevering and refusing to give up. Most of the time I had no idea what I was doing, but I did it anyway and learned along the way. It was certainly not easy, but I find clocking in and working for someone else much more difficult.
I have learned that failures are never a bad thing, they are just a chance to learn something new. I have learned that the entrepreneur life can often be a lonely one, and I’ve had to go out of my way to find people who understand my struggles and relate/have similar challenges.
I would like the world to know that I am constantly evolving, which means at most stages of my business I am learning something and likely have no idea what I’m doing at first. In the world of social media, we look at accounts and think they’ve got it “all figured out”, but I can promise you most of us have some things figured out, and we’re just figuring out the rest as we go.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My homeopath, Barbara Lowry. I would not be where I am without her. She played such an enormous part in my healing (and my healing journey is what inspired me to help others heal), and I owe so much of who I’ve become to her selfless work and dedication.
