We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Halimon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesse, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is simply keeping my sanity. I do music because it helps keep me sane. It’s let’s me know that as long as I got a song in my heart, that I’ll make it through some of my toughest times.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started singing at a really young age in my local church choir. I then fell in love with singing in front of others. Since my early days of singing I have grown a lot as singer. I now sing to give people hope. Every time I grab a microphone, my prayer is lord let these people see you even in r&b. I believe I was placed on this earth to meet people where they are with love and encouragement and a great time through my music.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go my new favorite hangout spots Politan Row at Colony Square. The food is great, the music and drinks are fantastic. The ambiance of the people makes it ten times better. We probably go see a movie bowling, or skating. Those are also things I love to do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out everyone who genuinely love and support me. It’s you all, who keeps me going when the world gets dark. -Just Semaj
