We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Furey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I think ‘taking risks’ I often think of taking a leap of faith and have to put my trust in god.

I took a risk when I moved from NJ to LA 12 years ago. I’ve been so grateful for that. I also took a leap of faith when I chose to make a career change from fitness to real estate. I am still a huge advocate & practitioner of the wellness and fitness world although my passion to fulfill a new career in realestate is where my drive, love, as well as tenacity is what keeps me taking risks and trusting in faith.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have experienced alot of ups and downs in my businesses. I believe that’s the nature of what helps us excel in our businesses. For me it has helped me to become a stronger & smarter woman in business. I have overcame challenges by learning to take one day at a time and to talk to my peers when challenges come up. I’m learning and finding it to be helpful to take contrary action. t provides an alternative way of thinking that can serve the business and working with people.

I think the one thing I would want others to know about me would be Im extremely tenacious. I will continue to go after what I want and ask questions until I get what I’m looking for. People continue to tell me what they admire this quality and respect how I don’t give up on things and keep at it even if it’s something I have failed at.

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect to others. I find it to be something that comes naturally and I find pleasure finding out about another person, putting that momentary spotlight on them and make a connection to it. I think that is something I will continue find to be most valuable; making a connection.

I have always worked in the service business For many years as a personal trainer to now being in real estate my work ethnic have remained the same. Going beyond clients expectations, honesty, expressing passion & gratitude, being hard working as well as a natural ability to connect with others. One of the things I love the most about real estate is knowing my clients can trust me, I will work extremely hard for them, and the joy they feel when they’re selling or closing on their home. I invest my time in my work and I’m grateful that it allows me to continue to provide excellence in customer service.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is simple. I would let them chose where they’d like to eat because I can bring them to the best restaurant for whatever mood they were it. I would definitely take them on a hike. Being in LA and so close to nature , the mountains and the beach, I love having the best of both worlds. I find this city has so much history that you can go to any part of the city and you’ll find something to enjoy. My guest would have a great time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m always reading. I love it. Whether be about business, spirituality, some form of self-help, or a biography all of them seem to showcase around this specific thought that finding things to be grateful for, to find that inner happiness and continue to take the steps towards the things that you may be passionate about. And continue to be in service and give back to others. I continue to find this to be one of the most helpful reminders that I hear or read often.

I am blessed with a lot of supportive people in my life and I am grateful for the people who have showed their support during a time that I needed it most. I definitely have a person that I feel most grateful for each day and I continue to express that love and gratitude to them in. I believe that we all have that special person or that group of people that bring us the most support each day no matter what we may be going through.
