We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Juarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by helping make this world a better place; I truly believe it starts with our youth! Integrity Learner is an educational business that focuses on the Whole Child. I teach rigorous academic skills while fostering children’s unique gifts and talents in an affirming social-emotional environment. As a social-emotional learning specialist, I believe academics and social-emotional learning is the key to a happy child, so I am here to help assist my students and community!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Integrity Learner is an educational business where we believe educating yet actively listening to the Whole Child is essential and a beautiful conduit that opens doors in life. We focus on academic support, social-emotional learning, and life coaching. Integrity Learner differs from most tutoring companies because we have a learning specialist that assesses children and focuses on filling educational gaps while also reviewing current topics taught in the classroom.

I am proud of Integrity Learner’s mission to help students learn confidence, resilience, and responsibility while discovering their unique gifts and talents in an affirming social-emotional environment. Developing the whole child is the heart and soul of Integrity Learner.

I got to where I am today with my family and friends’ support and my business coach @thepattyguerrero on Instagram. She has been fundamental in my business growth and mindset!

Starting a small business has not been easy. There are many things to learn about running a business and many hats to wear as a new business owner. I have overcome these challenges with my team’s support and healthy routines. I am a strong advocate for mental health awareness. I always prioritize my mental health and then focus on my business. We can not fill the cup of others if we have not filled our own first!

I have learned to always believe in myself and know my worth! People will ask you to do things that benefit them, but you first need to ask yourself if it benefits you. I have also learned always prioritize sleep, food, and exercise. Our minds and bodies can not function properly without all three!

I want the world to know that we can all work together to make the world a better place, and it starts with us. It is our responsibility to be contributing members of society in our own extraordinary ways. Integrity Learner is an extension of myself. We will continue supporting students in becoming the happiest and best versions of themselves so they can shine bright and pay it forward to society.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting the area for the weekend, I would take them to Santa Monica! I absolutely love the beach, and there is so much to do in the area. We would start with a beach day, but first, stop at Whole Foods and get our favorite healthy snacks. After hours of relaxing in the sun, we would walk around 3rd Street Promenade and grab a bite at one of the many restaurants in the area. We would end the night in Downtown LA because you can always find something fun to do!

The following day, we would go on one of the many hikes in LA! I have two dogs, so that we would find a dog-friendly hike. Afterward, we would definitely make time to get ready and have brunch on one of the many rooftops in LA! Lastly, ending our day with a Netflix night before saying our goodbyes!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my Shoutout to my family. I grew up in a low socio-economic status area where social-emotional learning was not taught or practiced. My family was one of many families not trained in social-emotional learning, but they knew I needed higher education to create a better life for myself. They prioritized my education and helped me with extracurricular activities. They also recognized my ambition and passion at a young age and always did the best they could to support me.

My family raised me to be strong, and I have always known I can do anything in life with effort and persistence. Their lives were not easy, but they always modeled how to persevere and keep fighting when life gets rough. We can do anything together, and we must never forget where we come from. I recognize my family and would not be where I am or who I am without them.
