Meet Jessica Scozzola | Actor, Producer, Business Woman

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Scozzola and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I see how the arts help people around the world. The arts help impact peoples’ lives for the better. It just starts with one person to be impacted on the positive from an artistic piece which can then roll over into others’ lives that they surround themselves with. Positivity is easily spread among many when one person gets impacted for the better from an artistic piece. True art communicates and gets people thinking about important topics. True art impacts and improves peoples’ lives for the better.

I strive to make the world an even better place. I know how art has a huge impact in creating a better world. Because positive art pieces are getting out there in the world, spread to the masses, the world becomes that much better. It is important for us to spread joy and creativity to add that much more positivity to the world. Whether it be a painting, acting performance, song writer’s words, musician’s performance, producer’s and director’s expertise, etc. it is all important to making the world a better place.

People get inspired by art. Some people decide to lead more productive lives. Some people decide to live happier lives. Some people decide to hone in on their own creative ventures on a deeper level. Some people decide to inspire others. Some people decide to help others. Some people may handle a failed purpose in the area of the arts where they start creating again. Some people may stop taking medications, alcohol or drugs. Some people may stop an abusive relationship. Some people may decide to lead a happier life. There is such great impact that can come from art. Those are some examples of the good effects the arts can create.

I care a lot about others. I know how impactful the arts are. I want to help others on a broad scale all over the world. I am truly passionate about the arts. My focus for me personally is acting, producing, dancing and singing. I care about wanting to help bring up my fellow artists and help bring them along with me. I don’t want to be the only successful actor and producer. I want to bring other good hearted artists up the line who also want to create the same positive impacts I want to in this world. That is what I see art to mean and artists to be, having the intention to create positivity all over the world with the creations and doing so.

I know how important it is for others to be doing in life what they are passionate about and truly love. I know how important it is for one to know what their purpose is in life. One will be happier in life to the degree they are on the right path for them and are doing right by their own goals and purposes. Don’t let anyone or anything divert you off your true path you want to be on. I am very passionate about the arts. I always strive for more. Each time I am newly on set, I know it is another experience for me to grow, meet new friends, help and learn more. I truly enjoy it. I know my worth and what I can bring to the plate and how I contribute to making the production even better. I like knowing I helped make something go smoother and that I was a part of a whole of making a creative project go that will impact lives for the better.

Art is beauty. I am Art. I am innately an Artist. This is who I am. I don’t pretend to be something I am not. It is very important we are true to our goals and purposes and are living honest lives. The way to live the most honest life is to be doing something that will help others on a broad scale, that aligns with your goals and purposes and that makes you happy and others’ happy as a result.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
All the acting and production crew credits I have thus far have all been self created with no agent or manager or heavy connections in the industry. I am currently a Non-Union Actor however I will be a Union Actor very soon with projects that are on the way later this year for myself. I have two Producers that are in touch with me right now about having me be an Actor in their films that will be produced later this year and they will be theatrical releases. They are in pre-production right now. The full cast and supporting cast needs to be fully finalized with paperwork, etc. One of the Producers also wants me to be a Producer for the film project.

What sets me apart is that I am a true go getter who doesn’t let real stops get in my way or imagined stops get in my way. One can think that they can’t make much happen with their career with no agent and without being in the Union yet. That is not true. You can will things into existence. You can keep your eye on that goal and keep creating on it. You can still make a lot happen in your career without those things too. I am proof of that. However when I do have a really good agent and manager for me in the future then I am sure things will take off that much more. Some may be surprised that I don’t yet have an agent or manager because I have made a lot go right already.

The more you put attention on the goal and create on it, the more you will see from it. If you put no attention on it, then how do you expect anything to happen? If you put no create into your career, then how do you expect anything to happen? Even with an agent, one should still be working hard in looking for work, not just twiddling their thumbs expecting their agent to find all the work for them. Perhaps your agent may only focus on the Los Angeles area but you would also like to work in other areas of the United States or other countries. You would then have to also put your create into things and into getting other work as well.

Although I am not yet a SAG member and A list Actor, I have been invited to some SAG and A list red carpet events and have also been invited to an A list after party that followed after a premiere that I attended. Although I am not yet a member of the Producers Guild of America, I went to the PGA live event in Beverly Hills, CA in February 2023 and met some very well known Producers in the industry.

One has to manifest things for things to happen. You have to will things into existence. You have to keep creating and believing. You can’t be stuck in the past. You have to create in the NOW. I made all of these happen as I started owning it more. I started believing in my big goals even more and had even more faith that I will achieve my big goals.

Currently I am a Producer on a Short Film project and the other Producer was having trouble finding a specific person for a specific role. It took me just a couple hours of time to find 4 different options that would be a good fit for this role. In the past there was an Executive Producer that needed my help to replace some people that couldn’t do the project anymore. He needed 3 people fast to fit a certain criteria to come on set the next day. I found those people he needed within a couple of hours. This is a fun game for me. I love helping productions like this and solving these logistic type problems. I get problems off the lines pretty rapidly. It’s fun for me. I also take my acting career seriously in a good way. I will bring such professionalism anytime I am on set. I help others that I am set with. I help give my fellow artists guidance in hopes it will further their careers. I care so much for others around me and that they are doing well too. I am not in my own bubble. I see those around me and acknowledge their existence and hope that any communication from my art or communication I give in general will help others and impact others’ lives for the better. I am not an Actor to be type casted. I can play many different types of characters. I love to have a challenge. I love to just keep creating. I love art. I love who I am as a person and always strive for more. I know there is always room to improve so I always go on set ready to learn new things and contribute new things.

When I decided to travel outside of the United States and travel to South Africa to help others, to learn the culture, to learn more about myself, to do some acting projects, things opened up even more for me. This is when I had those two producers from the United States mention they’d like to have me on board for the project. This is huge for me because these projects are the first projects that will be theatrical releases. This goes to show you that you don’t always have to stay put and be in only one location to make your career go. I am expanding on my career because I made the decision to branch out and visit overseas.

I focus a lot on humanitarian efforts as well. I always look at how I can help my fellow good hearted artists and fellows. I want all good hearted people to do well in life and hope the best for them always. I know that the more you learn about others, the more you learn about yourself. I know that the more you travel and learn different cultures, the more authentic you will be as an artist. I know that the more in tune you are with humanity, the more in tune you are with self and with your craft as an artist.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many places in Los Angeles that I could show someone. This isn’t my whole list. This is just what came to mind right now.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Good hearted people I have met along the way from my Church in the United States and in South Africa have definitely impacted my life for the better. Some acquaintances along the way that I have had the honor to help have impacted my life for the better. There was one man who I met when volunteering for my Church many years ago that said, “You know what Jessica, you may have just saved my life.” I cared about him and how he was doing and I showed him the right direction on what self improvement books would help him with the things he was running into. When you know you impacted someone’s life like that, you can’t help but become a better person as a result.

Helping others and communicating with others can only help you grow as an individual. Artistically, I feel it is very important to travel and meet new people and learn about different cultures. I intend to be a well known actor and producer, creating all over the world and intend to help all over the world consistently. What can help artists in manifesting this into a reality is traveling. Those who I have met on sets from Los Angeles, CA USA and New York City, NY USA and Saint Petersburg, FL USA areas have impacted my life for the better. Those who I have met on set from South Africa have impacted my life for the better. I have come to find that the more you get yourself out there and travel to meet new people and understand Mankind more, you can bring to life your character that much more as an Actor. It will come across as way more authentic in your create of a character when you know Mankind. All of my volunteer work I have done and also the traveling I have done has only helped me be that much more authentic as an artist. When you are in tune with Humanity, you can be in tune with your character you need to create. You will be able to communicate that much more with the audience and entertain the audience that much more. I am a better person and a better artist because I have done all the volunteer work I have done and traveling I have done.

Any good friends of mine that I have had from Elementary School days, Junior High School days, High School days, College days and beyond definitely have impacted my life for the better. My parents have helped me by respecting what I do with my life and understanding I have grow and learn on my own, that I have to decide what is best for my life and move forward on that. They have helped me as I never did drugs and I hardly ever drank alcohol. I haven’t had any alcohol for years now. My parents set a good example on this for me as all the years I’ve known them, they didn’t do drugs and they hardly drank alcohol and they never smoked. They were always working and providing for the family. They helped me understand the importance of being a part of groups, not just the family group. They got me involved with this Girls Club I was a part of that had dance competitions, fundraisers and other fun activities. They allowed me to have plenty of fun and practice playing sports when I wanted to play sports with the neighbors and with friends. They encouraged me to be in my Church group. Etc. It’s important to allow your children to find what they are best at and allow them to decide things for themselves. They allowed me to have fun dancing away at home. It’s important as parents that even if you are having a bad day, not to take it out on your child and tell them to stop being so happy and creative, etc.

My acting teacher and theater teacher in College definitely helped impact my life. My dancing teachers and singing coach definitely helped impact my life. Anyone along the way who encouraged me artistically definitely helped impact my life.

Specific A list Actors truly inspire me to get to greater heights with my career where they encourage me to think BIG and to get to that point in my life. I see how they inspire on a broad scale and impact for the better on a broad scale. I want to have that effect upon millions in the world as well. I want to know I have impacted millions of peoples’ lives for the better.

Jennifer Garner, Natalie Portman, Katherine Heigl, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Blake Lively and Helen Mirren are some female A list Actors that I respect. They all have amazing careers and you hear good things about these women on the good effects they create on others. I also have been impacted positively by late Kirstie Alley. She was a wonderful woman and impacted peoples’ lives for the better and she did a lot as an Actor and also humanitarian.

Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matthew McConaughey, Mark Wahlberg, Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Sandler, Steve Martin, Denzel Washington and Tom Cruise are some male A list Actors that I respect.

These artists are very versatile in the different types of characters they can portray. It is very impressive how authentic they portray their characters. Some of them definitely bring comedy to their works of art which I love. Some of them focus on a lot of action packed type of characters which I love. Action and Comedy are some of my favorite types of film genres. I truly appreciate the A list Actors that do a lot for Mankind as well, who focus on how they can help make this world a better place. I appreciate anything that they do that communicates to those in the world that the impossible can be possible or what seems impossible can be possible. We can always achieve for more. I have that much more respect for Actors that not only show such professionalism in their career but also who set such a great example in real life and who care so much that others do well in life and that this world becomes a better place for all.

When I see others achieving such great heights in their own careers and impacting many peoples’ lives for the better around the world, it makes it even more real that I too can achieve those goals. It is important for good hearted artists to make it all the way up the lines to A list status so then those who haven’t yet achieved that state know they can achieve that state. What we don’t want to have happen is anyone who is ill intentioned toward others to achieve that high status because then they will discourage others to work toward that goal. We need many good hearted artists to achieve great heights in their career because then the better they do, the better other good hearted artists do and the better the world does.

I strive for greater heights of always having consistent work as an Actor in A list projects in the future and also helping people all over the world consistently as well. I have a lot of respect for those who consistently work hard and who keep creating and who also help on humanitarian endeavors as well.
