We had the good fortune of connecting with Jett LaFever and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jett, what do you attribute your success to?
110% passion. I grew up in an Italian household with a coach as a father. I am a tough cookie, and a Scorpio at that. I am the most passionate person. I love to make people happy and feel 100% confident in there own skin. Someone truly feeling beautiful in one’s own skin is a powerful thing. I think my passion and love of people had set me up for success in the makeup world.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a freelance makeupartist is not easy. I have worked so hard for the past decade to be able to commit my entire life to my artistry. Weddings, events, film, tv, shorts, stage, etc, you name it I love doing it! I got here today because I work hard, and have come through so many obstacles to get to where I am today, My story is full of sad times, hardships, and trauma much like everyone else, however, the thing is, I see beauty in each and every person. If I can make someone see the beauty I see in them, they will sparkle and hopefully smile and realize it will all be okay. Life is hard man, if I can give someone a smile, I feel I did something right. my motto is everyone is beautiful, I just help them sparkle.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take her soooo many places! My boyfriend and I love love the Burbank Pub, because who doesn’t love a pirate tiki bar? I would also take her to castaway the best restaurant with a stunning view of Los Angeles. Of course Disney, and Universal Studios! I would take her on so many hikes. I love being outside and escaping reality and just breathing the air of the world. There are also a ton of exciting vintage shops and spooky Halloween stores. I love anything horror and there is so many fun places to go.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents deserve all the credit. When I was a kid, my mom would let me use all her makeup and make myself look like Edward scissorhands, or Freddy Kruger. They always pushed me, and let me be myself, no matter how strange and unusual. Having that support and creative freedom is what has made me who I am today. My mom and Dad deserve all the shoutouts I have to give. Thank you for letting me be 110% me.
