Meet Jillian Sangria

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jillian Sangria and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jillian, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
I don’t believe any field of work/ career is too competitive or saturated. There’s room for everyone. It’s about how hard you’re willing to work for it. When you truly love something and are passionate about it, it’ll show.
What should our readers know about your business?
Sadly, Lilypops is only my side business. I currently work full time as a casino dealer. I’m most excited to solely work as a balloon artist. Since I’m used to working graveyard, I can typically get decorations done overnight if circumstances allow. I’m still chasing the dream. It’s not easy but it’s what I want to do. I learn from every event I have the opportunity of working. I’ve learned to know your worth. I want the world to know that Lilypops was inspired by my daughter Lily. Once I start working on a project, I become obsessed with it and I hope it’s shown in my work.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I enjoy staying local. (With 3 kids, time is of the essence). We’d eat and stroll in downtown Long Beach, hang out at the beach, get massages nearby, and book a local air bnb.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Special shout out goes to my biggest supporter, husband, and best friend, Edward Romero. If it weren’t for my family, specifically my kids, Lilypops wouldn’t exist. Motherhood changed me and continues to push me to do better. I have the best village. Along with my husband, my mother in law, Maria Romero and my mom, Josette Sangria deserve recognition.
