We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimena Herrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jimena, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I aspired to develop a program that addresses the notable gaps I observed in existing solutions, aiming to help with the professional and business part of our career. Additionally, my intention was to foster a community, serving as a perpetual resource hub where individuals can reliably seek guidance, get feedback, or obtain help on their journey as actors.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Navigating through challenges its not easy but I have definitely enjoy every hurdle along the way. With each obstacle that presents, we grow stronger and become more resilient. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the power of community, having a close knit of people makes everything much easier. I’ll admit, asking for help its very hard for me but I realize that but I’ve come to realize that people are inherently generous and willing to lend a hand. There’s an abundance of support out there, far more than we often realize.
And that’s something that I want people to know, that Im here to help in any way I can, and if i don’t have the answers of the resources Ill help you find them. . Let’s tackle challenges together and build a network of support that makes the journey a little less daunting for everyone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s my specialty, I love making plans for people visiting New York. Frist thing, bring very comfortable shoes! Because walking is a must! Visit the different neighborhoods: Little Italy, Soho, Chinatown, FiDi.
I would recommend to at least visit one observation deck; the edge, Top of the Rock, Empire State, Freedom Tower. Go eat on a rooftop! Have drinks at a Speakeasy. If its summer, go to a park, do a picnic. Eat oysters at Grand Central, Pizza at Bleeker street, bagels at Leos. There are infinite places to hang out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many books, techniques and mentors that have helped me though out my journey in the performing arts. I would say the most important person in my career, is Rene Pereyra, he opened a world full of possibilities and shared with me a philosophy of life, not just art. I became more passionate about all art forms because of him. He worked alongside Lee Strasberg for over 10 years, and then went back to Mexico to teach his acting technique: the Method. I met him 12 years ago and I trained for 5 consecutive years with him, 3 days a week and having a performance with audience once a week.
