We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimmy Star and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jimmy, what do you attribute your success to?
So I have two brands….one of them is The Jimmy Star Show with Ron Russell podcast….
The Jimmy Star Show with Ron Russell is one of the most popular tv/film podcasts in the world. Ranked in the top 100 shows in 10 countries including the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, India, Colombia, Indonesia and Algeria.

We recently broke 1.25 BILLION views and Jimmy Star was named the 5th most influential radio personality in social media worldwide.

We are successful because we are an unscripted show that asks real questions, and we include the participants in the chatroom during the show which is loved by the listeners, and in turn they promote the show in their social media so we get maximum exposure.

My second brand is World Star PR, which was named best music PR firm in the United States. I have a business partner named Eileen Shapiro who is a NY Times best-selling author and we work with many celebrities in the industry. We listen to what our clients are trying to achieve, and work hard to get them to that place.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
For The Jimmy Star Show With Ron Russell, we are different in that we are a non-scripted entertainment show interviewing well known celebrities in the tv/film/music world. The show is not a typical question/answer show, but a conversation as if we were talking to friends in our kitchen eating crumb cake. It is very entertaining, funny, and informative.

World Star PR was formed as a fluke. We were on a ghost hunt in New York, and everyone participating was introduced by the same publicist. Eileen Shapiro and I were discussing how PR professionals around the US always contacted each of us to help with getting them publicity, and we decided we should try it out for ourselves. We came up with a name the next day, and within a week had 10 clients. We are very good at providing excellent service, and we do not make our clients sign a three or six month agreement. We work on a month to month basis, which helps when you only need press for a specific event or project.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I live in Palm Springs, but spend much of my time in Los Angeles….as an avid toy/action figure collector, I would go to the Funko Pop Museum, Big Boi’s, The Beverly Center, The Viper Room, Warner Brothers Studios, Venice Beach, Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles County Museum, Musso & Frank Grill, Spago, and In-N-Out Burger for anyone who has never eaten there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people who have been a huge part of my success….first off my husband Ron Russell who is the co-host of The Jimmy Star Show with Ron Russell…he is an amazing talent and has been in the entertainment industry for over 60 years.

The supporters of our show, a special shout out to Bee Claudia, a fan from Germany who has become a dear friend and one of the best graphic designers on the planet.

My business partner in World Star PR, Eileen Shapiro who is extremely hard-working, intelligent and basically a genius.
