Meet Joandrea Reynolds | Founder and CEO of JTainment, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joandrea Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joandrea, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Yes, there has been a progressive change in the thinking process. Striving to maintain a healthy spiritual, mental, and physical balance is becoming a habit that positively affects the work-life dynamic. Maintaining a positive balance, in my opinion, comes from understanding the importance of self-love and self-care. My approach to work-life balance changed when learning how to accept that things will get off balance but experience will help maintain stability. Using discernment as frequently as possible in work and life adds monumentally to the work-life balance, I believe.
What should our readers know about your business?
“Mentoring Through Poetry” is a program for children, youth, and adults that offers arts and healing through poetry and live performances. This program is unique in the aspect that novices discover positive ways to express themselves truthfully through a structured curriculum and creativity. Excitement for me comes from creating stages where artists can display given talents and help others discover and develop gifts possessed.
Ms. Reynolds introduced her production company JTainment, LLC to the world in 2017, and since its origination, the company constructed several productions in Los Angeles County. The coming play Stages of Understanding: Volume II – A Journey Through History occurs in Long Beach, CA on May 18, 2024. Appreciating that work comes with inevitable challenges helps Joandrea remain grounded and less prone to stress. In the process of establishing a production company and incepting a poetry-based learning program, Joandrea learned that endurance must remain present when working toward the goal.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to open mic poetry venues, the theater, beautiful ambient hiking trails, and to my favorite Mexican restaurants of course. In my opinion, the most fun, interesting, and exciting places to visit are those off-the-beaten-path, independently-owned businesses and locations centered around art, peace, entertainment, and fashion.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yahweh deserves all credit. My daughter Alexia J. Miller, my parents, and those who’ve supported and believed in me from the start deserve acknowledgment for assisting in this journey of personal and professional growth.
