We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Borress and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joe, what do you attribute your success to?
Passion and honesty. We inform all of our clients of the pros and cons of the scope of work in regards to their construction project. We always put the clients needs first, NEVER the money. We truly feel we have so much knowledge to share especially when it comes to keeping the design team informed of the best practices we recommend. We only want to add value to ever project. Our staff is compiled of highly skilled and like minded leaders that i’m very proud of. That is our true corporate culture.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My firm Tri Star Electric & Automation is based out of Malibu CA. We are lighting control specialists and electrical contractors. We design, consult, install and program Lutron Homeworks, Ketra Lighting, Lutron Shading Systems, Lutron Palladiom Series, Lutron myRoom Hospitality Systems, Josh AI and Bowers & Wilkens Audio. Owning your own business is not any easy but I fell our success has been the result of putting the Clients needs first, try our best everyday, and Ofcourse, always be honest. We also continue to educate ourselves as new technology arrives each day. When we are considered for a new Project, I’m very humble and always appreciate any new opportunity. It’s like entering a new relationship and we always do our part to make it a successful one.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
1. Surf with me in Malibu 2. Grab and acai bowl at Sunlife Organics 3. Take a hike at Runyan Canyon to see the Hollywood Sign 4. Watch the sunset at Matador Beach 5. Go vintage record shopping in Hollywood 6. Grab some sandwiches and give them t the homeless in Venice 7. Skateboard the beach path in Venice, people watch 8. grab a plant based dinner at Crossroads Kitchen.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In regards to work, i’d like to thank my 20 years in NYC construction. Working on some of the most difficult, high pressure Projects of high net worth corporate and residential Clients. I was fortunate enough to see it al and be an intricate part of the building process each day. In regards to my personal growth, I have learned a lot from reading all of the books by John Joseph. He is a a true warrior that over came adversity and became a spiritual and athletic goal crusher.
