Meet Joe Corzo | Actor/ Comic

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Corzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joe, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Deciding whether to continue or to bow out from my multifaceted career in acting, stand-up comedy, art and entertainment spanning 17 years is deeply anchored in my faith. This journey isn’t merely about achieving personal milestones but fulfilling a divinely inspired calling. My faith acts as my compass, guiding me through moments of doubt and triumph alike, reminding me that each step on this path is part of a greater plan. The laughter from the audience, the connection felt on stage and the impact of my performance are not just affirmations of my talent but signals of my purpose. On days when the applause fades, my faith bolsters my resolve, encouraging me to persevere through challenges as part of my narrative’s unfolding. It’s my belief that so long as I’m aligned with this higher calling, continuing to express love for what I do and trust in the journey’s significance, the decision to keep going becomes clearer. In essence, my faith, intertwined with a passion for my crafts, is the guiding light that helps me navigate the decision to press on or pause, trusting that every experience contributes to a larger story yet to be fully revealed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my journey through acting and stand-up comedy, I’ve navigated a path filled with raw emotion and laughter, each performance a piece of my personal narrative. This blend of drama and humor is what defines my unique approach, allowing me to connect deeply with audiences. Facing the industry’s inevitable rejections and challenges never deterred me instead, they fueled my determination and growth. Resilience and the support of an incredible community have been crucial in this journey, teaching me the value of perseverance and the strength found in collective encouragement. My career is a testament to the power of staying true to one’s art, despite the obstacles. Through acting and comedy, I aim to inspire others to pursue their passions fearlessly, reminding them that every setback is a step forward in disguise.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In a 7 day exploration of Los Angeles with my best friend, we’d go from the iconic Hollywood Boulevard, filled with the stars of comedy and cinema, to the scenic hikes of Griffith Observatory with panoramic views of the city. Our adventure would blend the vibrant LA food scene, from oversized pancakes at The Griddle Cafe to mixed variety of cuisine at Grand Central Market with cultural excursions to one of LA’s many museums and nights of laughter at a comedy club maybe hit up the Comedy Store or The Laugh Factory. Even catch a flick at the Beverly Cinema or a live show at one of the local theaters. Beach days would take us from the lively Santa Monica Pier to the serene sunsets of Malibu each moment capturing the city’s diverse spirit. We’d explore into the historic heart of Hollywood with visits to Musso & Frank Grill then unwind at hidden speakeasies like The Varnish showcasing the city’s blend of old school glamour and contemporary vibes. Our journey would reveal LA’s contrasts from bustling cityscapes to tranquil beaches all while soaking in the creative and dynamic energy of its people, making it not just a trip but a deep dive into the essence of Los Angeles.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In expressing my gratitude for the journey I’ve been on, my heart overflows with gratitude, first and foremost to God, for His unending grace and guidance. This acknowledgment extends to the countless individuals who’ve mirrored God’s spirit through their support, mentorship, and love. While the list of names is too many and diverse it encompasses every mentor, friend, family member, and even strangers who’ve offered encouragement, wisdom, or simply a piece of their heart at crucial moments. Their collective impact is a testament to the profound interconnectedness of our lives, provided by divine will. Also the rich wisdom found in countless books has served as a silent mentor, shaping my understanding. This shoutout is a tribute not to specific names but to the collective spirit of all who’ve touched my life, acting as vessels of God’s love and grace. Their roles in my story are invaluable, and to them, I owe a debt of gratitude, acknowledging that my path and successes are deeply intertwined with their generosity and kindness.
