We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Rubino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe, what’s your definition for success?
As a video game director and filmmaker, one of the co-founders of a marketing agency, and the creative director for a luxury tequila – I am deeply passionate about the work that I do. It is more than just a career for me; it is a calling, a vocation that speaks to my soul and drives me to strive for excellence in all that I do and take notice of the process and relationships I forge along the way.

Whether I am crafting immersive gaming experiences that transport players to other worlds or creating powerful marketing campaigns that connect brands with their audiences, I am constantly pushing myself to be the best that I can be. I pour my heart and soul into every project that I undertake, and I am driven by a deep sense of purpose and a desire to make a positive impact on audiences, leaving memorable experiences.

For me, there is nothing more fulfilling than bringing stories to life through the power of games and film though. It is a privilege and an honor to be able to do what I love, and to share my passion with others. I believe that video games and film have the power to inspire, challenge, connect, and of course allow people a medium for interactive escapism.

My work is not just a job, it is a way of life. I am grateful for the opportunities that I have had so far, and I look forward to continuing to create and innovate in the years to come.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Throughout my life, I’ve often been considered an underdog. However, I have always prided myself on my ability to persevere and overcome obstacles through sheer determination and hard work. I believe that this quality has given me an advantage over others, as I have never been one to give up easily.

I must admit that while I have achieved a great measure of success, I am continually striving to improve and never feel entirely satisfied with my work, actually I have a hard time looking back. I often find myself reflecting on missed opportunities and areas where I could have done even better. This keeps me humble and motivated to keep learning and growing.

I believe that true success comes from consistent effort and a willingness to learn from one’s mistakes. I remain grounded and grateful for the opportunities that I have had, and I recognize that there is always room for improvement. This awareness might be my edge.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
You could catch me at Dan Tana’s in Beverly Hills enjoying a proper chicken parm with a glass of vino or Pizzeria Bianco. Pizza in Los Angeles isn’t something to write home about, but Chris Bianco does it well, go see him, get a pie, and enjoy it. My fiance and I like the places in between, the ones that are hard to find. When we want to enjoy a nice ambiance we got Toca Madera, be sure to order the Tequila Gran Diamante – the smoothest on the shelf.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A special shoutout to my amazing fiance Leysla and to my parents, family and friends. Without them, as a foundation, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They are my rock.
