We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Sichak and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonathan, what are you inspired by?
What inspires me is the profound beauty and precision found in the details of the natural world. To quote Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, “God is in the details.” This idea captures the design present in everything from the microscopic world of microbes to the vast expanse of the cosmos. Whether you see this harmony as the work of a deity, a creator, or the wonders of science, the way the universe aligns so perfectly and intricately is truly awe-inspiring.

My art is a blend of whimsy, playfulness, and a touch of mystery. It’s my way of capturing the sense of childhood wonder, that feeling when everything is new and full of possibility. What sets my work apart is its ability to evoke a deep emotional response, whether it’s a sense of joy, curiosity, or nostalgia. I’m most proud of how my art resonates with people, creating lasting impressions and memories.
The journey to where I am today has been shaped by a lot of self-practice and a deep admiration for seasoned artists. I’ve drawn inspiration from their work, striving to understand and emulate the techniques that make their art so impactful. Looking back, what seemed easy in the moment was anything but. The path was filled with challenges, but due to my faith in God, I knew there was always a way forward. There was a door always open.
Overcoming these challenges has taught me to focus intensely on the experience of art and its impact on the viewer. I’ve learned to ask myself what makes a design truly engaging, what makes a piece worth interacting with, and how can it evoke emotions that linger long after. This, I believe, is the core of any creative’s journey.
As for my brand and story, I want the world to understand that curiosity should never be stifled—being bored should almost be a crime. There’s so much to discover, so many unexpected and fascinating things to learn. We’re just collections of tiny particles, interacting in ways that allow us to experience colors, emotions, and the vastness of the world around us. My work is a celebration of that wonder, and I encourage everyone to keep learning and exploring, because there’s always something new to discover.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Miami, the first place has to be the beach—alive with energy, where you’ll find crowds of people, small shopping center, quirky beach houses, and lots of wildlife. It’s the essential Miami experience.
Monkey jungle is somewhere at the top as well. A place where the monkeys roam free, you can interact with them, feed them, , they have a variety of animals as well, not just monkeys
Next, I’d take you to Wynwood, known for its incredible graffiti murals and trendy, overpriced restaurants. I’m not a fan of the night life, but a huge fan of the art here. Lots of street artists making and selling interesting work, bars and clubs with bands playing music. overall a nice place to visit if your into the arts.
For those who like a party, I’d recommend the Hard Rock Casino, a building shaped like a giant guitar, its exterior illuminated by lasers that shoot into the sky. Inside, the design is a blend of rock n’ roll culture with a opulent touch. Lots of places to eat, gambling (if your into that), and a small shopping area. Every time I’ve been here, I just admire the architecture and interior design.
Last place I recommend is the Miami Seaquarium. Its a nice family friendly aquarium. It’s nice to walk around and see the exhibits, but it really shines if you go for the more interactive stuff, like the dolphin swim, or shark interactions!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I want to thank my family for their unwavering support. My parents guided me through college, my granddad encouraged my early creativity as I drew with chalk on the sidewalk, and my high school art teacher, Mrs. Spee, opened the door to the world of design for me.
