Meet Jordan Louis | Founder & CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Sharing the opportunity with others.
From the very beginning, part of the vision was, if you can figure this out, you get to share it with others. The decision to begin LINK x LOU itself wasn’t just meant for me. I knew I was just supposed to say yes & get it started. I’ve always cared a lot about helping others find opportunities where their passions & skills are particularly valued. A place where people feel a sense of value & where they can experience success, all of which is a direct result of, what you put in, you get out.
I decided to share it with people who understand the importance of community, connection, a high-quality, memorable experience, & who get excited about being able to share & provide the experience to others. To Get Linked with permanent jewelry that represents something beyond just the 14K gold.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Post-grad, I was a Special Education professional for five years. For the majority of that time, I taught at the high school level. Before moving to Colorado to pursue my passion for aesthetics, I was finishing my Master’s in Special Education, then went to school to become an aesthetician & began working. Integrating into the aesthetics world as an independent contractor is where I discovered work-life balance & the opportunity to create my own schedule. The benefits of having flexibility in my own work had a profound, positive impact on my personal & professional life & allowed me to prioritize other ventures like founding a volunteer organization, Denver Serve, which partnered with local non-profits.
I believe having a variety of roles & the ability to experience different types of work structures gave me the perspective I needed in order to build something that felt like the best of both worlds. Without that experience, I wouldn’t have been able to visualize & create the model necessary for people to want to be a part of LINK x LOU, which is part of what allowed us to grow so quickly.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If one of my best friends was coming to visit me in Colorado, I’d insist they get into town bright & early. First, we’d head straight to Onefold downtown to grab coffee & my favorite breakfast. Then we’d go shop around for a bit. Thrifting is my favorite, or an estate sale if we’re lucky. Other must-see shops in Denver are Recital, Modern Nomad & Brass Armadillo. To seal in the perfect breakfast & lunch combo, we’d grab a late bite at Temaki Den to catch their happy hour lunch special.
Next, we’d jump back in the car & head straight to Breckenridge as the sun sets. We’d have dinner at Rootstalk & enjoy the chef’s tasting menu. I’m a big foodie if you can’t tell…& then bop around to the local bars for live music.
Saturday morning we’d start at Cool River Cafe with vanilla blackberry iced oat milk lattes & breakfast burritos before we drive to the top of Peak 9 to catch the beautiful morning views. After exploring Breck on foot & grabbing a light lunch, we’d go get ready for a concert at Dillon Amphitheater, which is my favorite music venue. It sits on a lake surrounded by mountains, accompanied by the most beautiful sunsets in Colorado. Finally, back to Breck for a game night with friends & fire.
The fun would continue on Sunday as we’d ride e-bikes from Breck to Frisco & back. The tiki bar on Lake Dillon is a must-visit stop before heading back. Finally, we’d close out the dream weekend in the hot tub at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 to seal it all in. My perfect mix of outdoor adventures, music, & eating your heart out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is actually a book that I attribute my aha moment to. It’s called Leap Frog, The New Revolution for Women Entrepreneurs. Mid-pandemic, I was reading this book as a reason to reconnect & give time back to myself. The chapter I had read one morning said, “When there’s a problem with no solution, that’s your business plan.”
It wasn’t until later that evening – middle of the night – that I found myself in search of a place to get permanent jewelry. When the closest place that I could find local to Denver was NYC, the chapter title popped into my head. That was the light going off. It said, You can do this. Not a lot of people know what this is, & you can be the one to make this accessible to everyone & well-known.
I have an innate love for marketing, content creation, community events, & connecting women through empowerment,
In that moment, it truly felt like such a calling. It wasn’t a question of whether or not I was going to do it, it was like the puzzle pieces were put in front of me & the next step was to make it happen. I was the right person for it, I didn’t have to know everything, but I had the opportunity to create & share it with others. It felt like a miss if I didn’t go for it.
