Meet Jordan Maye

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Maye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue my music career because I simply didn’t see myself enjoying each day in any other field. Music is more than just an industry, it’s an art form that brings emotion into peoples’ lives.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My first step into becoming a songwriter was learning to play instruments. I started playing piano and guitar in middle school, and I started taking singing lessons as well. Applying for college is always a stressful time; I only had one school in mind: Berklee College of music. Once I got into Berklee, I began writing music and decided that I wanted to be a songwriter. I pride myself on writing music that people can relate to. My goal is to make them feel what I feel.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d probably start by taking them to Newbury st., a street full of shops, restaurants, cafes, and more. Then we would see the Boston public garden and the Boston Commons. There’s also plenty of museums to visit, including the Museum of Fine Arts.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would absolutely love to thank my parents for supporting me in everything I choose to pursue. I know they’re always going to be by my side.
