We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Dominguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jose, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was a combination of passion, problem-solving, and strategic planning.

Firstly, I identified a gap in the market where I could offer a unique product or service that would benefit my target audience, since the main ideas was to sell a good dessert on the street, we needed to be something easy to prepare and that didn’t require a large amount of money to invest. This would include a crepe cart, and truck to move my equipment.

Secondly, I focused on finding the right location for my business. This decision was crucial as it would directly impact accessibility, visibility, and overall customer experience, considered factors such as foot traffic and competition,

Finally, I developed a comprehensive marketing and promotion strategy to attract customers and build brand awareness. This included leveraging social media, I started an Instagram acc about 5 months before launching our business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I worked for the metal recycling industry for about 14 years, I’ve always had a passion for food, and after years in the metal recycling industry, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my dream of becoming a caterer. While I didn’t have any formal culinary training, I was determined to learn and grow.

My journey hasn’t been without its challenges. The pandemic forced me to adapt and pivot my business model, and there were countless setbacks along the way. However, I’ve learned the importance of perseverance, creativity.

What sets my business apart is providing exceptional customer service. I’m most proud of the positive feedback I’ve received from customers who appreciate my unique flavor combinations and friendly approach.
I’m excited about the future of my business and hope to continue sharing my passion for food with the community. I want my brand to be known for its delicious crepes, warm hospitality, and commitment to making people happy, one bite at a time.”

I would dedicated this story to my wife Maria and my niece Sherlyne, since they’ve been with me since the beginning, I wouldn’t have this business if it wasn’t for them.
