We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Paz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jose, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I guess I love to day dream. Whenever I listen to music that gets to my emotions I start to think about a creative concept in my mind. Like if I’m day dreaming while listening to music. That’s why I create art. I love doing it because i bring out my imagination to reality.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I consider my art as something close to Tim Burton and Guillermo Del Toro. I love the horror aspect and the unknown. I love creating dark art and creepy concept. My biggest challenges is making a good story. Whenever I create a monster I also create a story behind it. I learn so much about filmmaking and the art of film. I dent to lean more in the video aspect than photography. My goal is to always touch people emotions thru my videos. To have a connection to it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would consider on what she/he likes. Is my best friends likes karaoke then I know a good spot to take my friend. If my friends love pizza then I would take my friend to a good spot. I would take my friend to a nice restaurant or maybe something basic as going to a taco truck. My best friend is not picky and he would eat anything.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would want to shout out my family members and this artist called Peter Gundry. My family for always believing in me and understanding my passion for art. Peter Gundry is a music composer from Austrailia and his music inspire me to create some beautiful art.
