We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Bertell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, what are you inspired by?
Truth is the most profound source of inspiration—not only in the creative realm, but across every dimension of life. It carries both comfort and pain, beauty and brutality.

When we learn to confront and embrace the truth within ourselves, to be radically honest about who we are and what we feel, life begins to transform in ways that are both grounding and liberating.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Returning to the idea of truth—I’ve come to see that being honest with myself has shaped the way I move through the world. It’s kept my actions authentic and helped me recognize that same honesty in others.

Over time, even people I once found difficult have become unexpected allies. There’s something about showing up as yourself—and approaching everything with love—that invites others to meet you where you are, and sometimes, even want to help you move forward. In both work and life, staying true to who I am has quietly opened the right doors.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend knows I keep it simple. Mornings would probably start with coffee, then head back to my place where I’d cook up some good ass food.

The days would be chill. Maybe we’d get out a bit, but honestly, the best times would be at home—games, friends, some drinks, and just hanging out 😎

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m deeply grateful to my family and friends—without their support, I wouldn’t have made it through.

And to my boss, thank you for the unexpected kindness and support for giving me the time I needed to pursue auditions and booking.
