We had the good fortune of connecting with Josiah Arellano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Josiah, what’s your definition for success?
How I define success, I prioritize happiness derived from my work as a makeup artist and the joy I bring to others through my craft. Success, to me, is measured by the fulfillment I experience and the positive impact I have on those around me
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a makeup artist, what sets me apart is my unwavering passion for perfecting my craft and pushing the boundaries of creativity. I take immense pride in continuously challenging myself to become a better version of who I am, constantly seeking new techniques and styles to elevate my work. My journey to where I am today has been anything but easy. I faced self-doubt and comparison to others, which were significant challenges to overcome. However, with the unwavering support of my friends, family, and my own inner drive, I persevered. Attending a prestigious school in LA provided me with essential skills and knowledge, but it was through networking and putting myself out there that I truly began to thrive in the industry.
Along the way, I’ve learned invaluable lessons about resilience, self-belief, and the power of perseverance. I’ve come to understand that success is not just about talent or skill, but also about determination, happiness and the ability to learn and grow from setbacks.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that my journey is fueled by a genuine love for my craft and a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful impact through my work. I’m excited to see where my career as a makeup artist takes me and am committed to continuing to push the boundaries of creativity and excellence.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In my journey as a makeup artist, I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to my father, who has been an unwavering mentor and source of inspiration. His relentless support for my ideas, creativity, and career decisions has been instrumental in shaping my path. As a hardworking businessman, he understands the challenges of building a successful enterprise and has imparted invaluable wisdom and advice along the way. His dedication, resilience, and belief in my potential continue to fuel my drive for success, both personally and professionally. I am truly grateful for his guidance and unwavering support.
