Meet Joss Gomez | Publisher/Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joss Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joss, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own business because there is too much competition in what I do (acting) so it was really hard to get auditions and to book jobs, so I decided to launch my own magazine to promote myself to the key people in the industry and that is how my entertainment magazine started 12 years ago.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well, is a long story but I think there are two kind of people in the world, people who plans and say they are going to do something and then dont do nothing and the people who says Im going to do this and go for it an make it happen! is never easy and for us was really hard to start doing what I like, to launch a print magazine you need money and people and I didn’t have any of that, but thanks to people who believes in you that help and they give you a chance to succeed. Im proud because I have accomplished a lot , I think, we had fun producing events and filming movies, also been so lucky to meet the most accomplished and interesting people along the way. Our magazine was recognized as the 4th best in Hollywood. What I learned is that nothing is easy but you just need to keep working hard and have your goal in your mind and dont stop for anything to make it happen. I want people to know that we started from nothing and now we have accomplished a lot, still a long way to go but we are on the right path.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
well, I love to eat so we will start with a nice buffet and eat till we cant move, then after we recovered we will go to the beach and Hollywood blvd. My favs places are Disneyland, Universal studios, Lakers games, concert, then Griffith park and then go to Yosemite or Ojai and do some hiking to burn all the calories we ate at the buffet, then maybe some shopping.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout to all the people who has supported our magazine and movies since the beginning, all the incredible people who have been in our covers and all the actors who have been in our movies, we love you and thank you for all the support.
