We had the good fortune of connecting with Jourdan Jade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jourdan, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
After a decade of corporate jobs and working for other people, I needed to be self-employed and have a creative outlet. I was tired of working 40+hours for someone else’s dream, and decided to commit to making my own a reality. Now I own two cannabis companies and am performing my music throughout the nation.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an award winning hip hop/pop/R&B recording artist. I’ve been grateful to collab with artists such as LaRussel, Keak Da Sneak, B-Legit and Nef The Pharaoh. I’ve performed throughout the nation, rocking large festivals to private events, opening for artists such as E-40, Too $hort, NLE Choppa, Soulja Boy, Lil Xan, Mike Jones, RBL Posse, The Luniz and more. Music has been a journey of self-exploration and self-expression that I’m glad I embarked on. I love creating, performing and connecting/vibing/resonating with others through my creations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Live music shows with local artists! And the best foodie spots and smoke spots.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
While working at Apple Corp in Silicon Valley, I met audio engineer Pocket Honore who taught me how to record myself and assisted with my first few songs and gave me the confidence to fully step into recording. Without him I wouldn’t have started music. I also want to shout out my audio engineer SoundGod at The Shop Studios in Richmond, CA for helping me step outside of my comfort zone musically. Also shout out to the rest of my team and everyone who has ever supported my journey!
